In this Physics video in Hindi for class 12 AND B.Sc. we proved Gauss' theorem having an arbitrary Gaussian surface and using the concept of solid angle. With this derivation we have also show that surface may not be spherical and charge need not reside at the centre.
Gauss' theorem states that the total electric flux through a closed surface is equal to 1/ɛ₀ times the magnitude of the charge enclosed.
Mathematically, Ф = q/ε₀
In other words,
Gauss' theorem states that the surface integral of the electric field over a closed surface is equal to 1/ɛ₀ times the charge enclosed.
Mathematically, ∮E ⃗. ds ⃗ = q/ε₀
