This is very impressive work and I can already think of many jobs I could use these for on our vertical mills. The radial relief and the jaw thickness will allow us to mill the entire perimeter of the part. Anyone know what he dips his serrated jaws in after heating though? Curious if it's only cosmetic or if it also increases the jaw life. Thanks in advance to anyone that has an answer.

Beautiful job Raymond I think these clamps are a must for every machine shop.I will have to make a pair when I have some free time.I like to point out one thing which would improve the jaw security because the forces are at 45 deg. and clamping forces are in compression and downwards I suggest a small step milled on top edge of the jaw seat will take the resultant forces trying to shear the small screws or at least stop them getting loose over time. Not trying to to teach a master machinist his job only a suggestion.
