This wasn't done well and she deserves a better performance. Even her ex husband had a better one done. As people of color, some seem to accept anything that sounds okay, ignoring the cheap wigs, costumes, etc. Add some little unknown facts, a girl who can mimic her while she did some appearances, and we say wow that was good. People of color are at the top of the pole in the entertainment industry and she was one of the greatest. It was rushed as usual to make a dollar, and none of the major things that came out in her life/death later were in it. It is just one big video. Somebody please do better!

But this isn't how it happened. Clive didn't just randomly show up for a show for Whitney & mother singing. The guy in the beginning of the clip raving about Whitney specifically setup a showcase for Whitney and purposely brought Clive to see her with the goal of getting her a record deal. He spoke about over the years in interviews. So where's the authenticity? There is none.

@@IknowYouAreRightBiopics are not exact carbon copies of the subject’s life. This scene was most likely done for dramatization purposes. It is true that she sung at Sweetwaters with her mother and brother, which is probably why her discovery is set there. They also combine different eras and outfits for the sake of time. Biopics aren’t usually geared toward hardcore fans, but for people and generations who only have a surface-level understanding of the subject.
