I had a cat who lived to be 19 who often had these kind of eye problems. He eventually lost an eye to a cancerous tumor but lived a long, happy one-eyed life.

Thank you, I think my cat may have that, as her 1 eye has started to weep, and it seems to be a clear liquid only, I'm very glad that you are doing this new show, as I still love watching Reruns of Vet on the Hill. You do have a way with the animals you come in contact with,

Thanks for another great video Scott 😊. Am really liking this channel as it gives a mix of educational videos with helpful tips in this section and also in the other sections shows us more of the amazing work done by you and animal rescue centres around the country highlighting the issues that are being faced by these centres in the current climate and reminding us how we could possibly help, then we get the parts that although are very shocking and upsetting to see in their severity there is a happy outcome for the poor animals despite real adversity and that because of good Samaritans and rescue teams they go on to have the happy and safe lives they deserve. It really highlights and makes us aware of some of the awful things that do happen which we may not realise. Great work as always Scott 👏🏻. Looking forward to more updates 😊💓

I adopted a cat who was 4 yrs old who had conjunctivitis. The meds got it cleared up but the redness remained and her one bad eye had difficulty opening. I started giving her a small amount of lysine in her food daily and it’s cleared up very well. The vet was surprised because she expected the slight redness to be mostly a permanent result of the bad infection she had had. Occasionally I see the redness return so I double her dose of lysine and it clears up in a couple of days. I keep lysine powder in the house for me when I start feeling sick or break out with a cold sore on my mouth. I use the same powder for her. It’s completely tasteless and since it’s a part of her daily routine my cat doesn’t mind it in her wet food

What a beautiful kitten! I've dealt with conjunctivitis in my children and cats over the years. Now I keep bottles of sterile saline solution on hand to bath eyes as needed and if that isn't sufficient, call on our local vet. Luckily my three children are all old enough to take themselves to the doctor as needed. I remember a time when I had a bottle of Chlorsig in the fridge for my daughter and another bottle for our cat, Erasmus, each appropriately marked of course. We do alot of rescue work here with orphaned and dumped kittens. In that case I always get my vet to check out any eye infection in case there is also ulceration present. As to suggestions for future content, I think a video about the ongoing treatment of cats living with FIV would be both interesting and informative. We have a number of cats with FIV who are living happy lives. It's alot different from when I first encountered FIV in cats in the mid 80s in Canberra. At that time as soon as a cat was diagnosed, euthanasia was emphasised as there was no other way yet to prevent transmission. Thank you for the wonderful videos. I watched you on Bondi Vet and it was lovely find you once more when KZitem suggested your episode about the stirling work done by the rescue centre in Shropshire.

Thank you for your time. One of my fosters has conjunctivitis , and I took her to the vet the day I picked her up from her surrender, and the vet took one smell of her and said that her conjunctivitis was environmental because the poor cat smelt like a Perfume factory “whore house” Lolol.

I might have a fun question. My husband and I in the course of the last three years have adopted two previously feral cats. We have managed to get them to a level of confidence around us. As in our first is a cuddle bug and our second that we have had for a few months now is becoming a purring cuddle monster. We have noticed that he likes to chew (not swallow) and carry stuff around in his mouth. We do want to give him some safe options to chew on (as it seems to help him settle down and he loves to playfully bite into balls and carry them around). However we have no idea what we can give him to safely bite which is not food! But also might be interesting enough for him to play with. Anyone any ideas?

Ask the Vet - Hi, something I've been wondering for a long time, can dogs have eating disorders or are they just picky eaters? We have had several foster dogs with whom we have had this problem, and know several people who change dog food several times a year when the dog stops liking/eating the food they are using.

Query for another video - is there a reason why my dog sometimes humps one of his toys soon after eating and gets so excited and “hits the spot” 😉 he can vomit the food back 🤔 Doesn’t happen often. Is this a cause for concern or is he just being a randy male 😉😂🙄
