Homemade TV cake or Budapest cake (my favorite childhood cake recipe) || Dulcinele
🍞 Ingredients for the sponge cake (25x35 cm tray - but you can also use a larger tray like the 42x37cm oven)
5 separate large eggs
130g caster sugar
5 tablespoons vegetable oil
150g plain flour
vanilla sugar or vanilla extract
a pinch of salt and a little bit of lemon juice
🍫 Ingredients for the cocoa layers:
2 large eggs
130g caster sugar
70ml vegetable oil
100ml milk
1 teaspoon ammonia (ammonium bicarbonate)
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
about 450g plain flour + a pinch of salt
🍋 Ingredients for the simple cream with vanilla and lemon - will get 1.5 kg of vanilla cream that is evenly divided into two bowls, to have two uniform layers of cream):
1 liter of milk
100g corn starch (can be replaced with 200g of plain flour but the cream should be cooked longer if you use plain flour)
150g caster sugar
grated peel of 1 lemon (use only organic lemons with untreated peel)
the juice from half a lemon
1 tablespoon and a half of vanilla extract or vanilla sugar
100g white chocolate
200g butter
🔥 I baked the sponge cake and the 2 cocoa layer cakes individually: 15-18 minutes each at 180 degrees C (without ventilation), I baked the sponge cake in the tray, and I baked the cocoa sheets on the bottom of the tray (I used same tray)
