Took my KLR out today. Same year and color. I was so impressed with how it did in similar terrain. Stock tires did a great job surprisingly in the hard pack/sandy forest roads here in AZ. Such a comfortable bike. Love it

Would you recommend it for a beginner? Im looking at this as a first bike so I can do on road, and desert riding. Im also in AZ

Another great video running this bike the way she was designed to be ran. It is nice to see someone who was not gifted the bike or loaned the bike just for videos and promo stuff having fun. Thanks again for sharing, new sub here, keep up the fun videos my friend, mabey we will meet up on the trial sometime. Dale

Nice vid--hey, you ride the way you want. It's your hide! Haha, but I will say, I'm glad I was wearing my Forma ADV boots when I wiped out last weekend. Thanks for the vid and stay safe!

Just recently purchased the Battle Ax41 tires for my 2022 KLR. Pretty good over all but sand is sketchy. Actually very good on road and canyon carving and most dirt and rock. Wear factor is high if you ride in extreme rocky areas. If I was you I would look at Tusk DOT tires. I also purchased IRC Pro pegs and run with the rubber mounts, Eagle Mike fork brace, Happy Trails bash plate, Bark Busters. I will probably get some risers. Probably some Tusk panniers etc down the road. Good Vid, Thx

I’m running d606 on my 2012 klr and she finally hooks on sand 👌 they wear fast though, wouldnt buy them unless you use it mostly in rough terrain. I’m on sandy creek beds most of the time so it was worth it for me👍

@@CompaCookies The D606 are one of my favorite dual sport tires. I ran them on my DRZ400 and loved them both off and on road but always got about 1,500 miles out of them. They wouldn’t be my choice on the KLR unless I wanted to mount them for dirt only. I guess it would be nice to have (2) sets of wheels haha

You keep referring to what you can do on a dirt bike as compared to a klr. These are two completely different types of motorcycle. The Klr did everything you asked it to. It does all that it should do. It can't be compared to a dirt bike. One thing it can do that a dirt bike can't....is be on the road.. keep riding ,stay happy.

Its a good comparison to make, I am the same way, Im a dirt biker first and always, and I now have a KLR as another option, its good to know what it can and cannot do in comparison off-road, because as you mention, its very capable on road.
