This is your old buddy Donald, we want to see more gardening and exploring old barns and houses and visits with old timers. Haven't seen the girls lately, hope everything's fine.

Thanks for taking us along! That is the same as my 16" Meadows mill but I think mine is from around 1917. The only difference I saw was you pulled out a cotter pin where I have a square nut and bolt, other than that it looks like they didn't change a thing. (And I bet the bolt was because someone lost that original part) I stuff a T shirt down the inlet to the eye. Then when I get ready to grind I look down at my t shirt carefully before moving anything to see if a visitor has left a calling card, then I remove it and keep looking. I also have a board blocking the meal chute hole in the husk. I'm not super fussy but I prefer a T shirt to the shorts :D Mine was relined with stainless, I think it started life unlined from back then? There's a good bit of wood erosion. I've wondered about bedding some epoxy behind the stainless so meal can't get around back in there. Having watched you get the runner stone out of a few I believe we can keep blowing it out good for a good while yet. I always look forward to seeing what you are into.

Don thanks for sharing. You need a pin instead of a bolt. The bolt is bad to break the cast ears off. Ha ha, a shirt works. I have a hard time thinking of putting any chemicals in a mill. As long as it was no contact might be fine. Thank you and take care!

Justro - I have no idea about a mill or maintenance or repairs of one, but I do enjoy watching you 'at work' doing what needs doing to keep one running or get one back in operation. I have enjoyed every video you share whether it is these or gardening and/or other 'life stuff' you share with us. FYI: I am a couple of years older then this one you are working on. The Lord bless & keep you and your girls.

The serial number plate hollered "Sears" to me. I didn't recognize Meadows Mill as a Sears brand, but sure enough, it sold through the catalog for a long time. I wonder if someone has a picture from the 1943 catalog?
