Mass is increasing in this p-->n reaction which happens by using binding energy as (🔺️E/c²= M) binding energy converts into mass. But it's not that easy to get energy from the nucleus so the similar phenomena comes into the picture called "ELECTRON CAPTURE" usually in heavy atoms.

I apologize in advance for my question: I’m an American, I have no background in particle physics, or even Newtonian physics. I’m terrible at math, but I do find the basic ideas in particle physics fascinating. I had a little trouble understanding the speaker, as it’s an accent I’m not used to. But your comment seemed to clarify things for me, so I just wanted to ask if I understood it correctly. So if you had 7 protons and 7 neutrons that weren’t in a nitrogen atom, they were just bouncing around by themselves, the total mass of those particles would be greater than if they were in a nucleus together, correct? And this is because binding them together requires energy, and that energy comes from the mass of the particles, from the famous equation E=MC^2. So, when a proton undergoes beta+ decay, and it emits a positron and a neutrino, the type of nucleus is changed to another element, (carbon 14 in this theoretical case) which requires less binding energy, and that excess energy is converted into the mass of the new neutron? Is that basically how it works?

Sir, what particles are known as bosons? As I found they are the typical force career particles among the matter. But I also found Higgs Boson, Meson, Gauge boson and even the most intriguing composite boson which are the bound state of fermions. So, Sir please clarify the actual concept of Bosons.
@rawatutkarsh
3 жыл бұрын
Bosons , more specifically referred to gauge bosons , are subatomic particles that are the force carriers . Different particles exchange these particles and these interactions between particles is the reason behind forces . For example , if there are 2 electrons , they exchange photons (which are the force carriers of electromagnetic force) , these exchange results in the electromagnetic force . On the other hand , meson are particles that are made up of a quark and an anti quark pair and higgs bosons are particles that are responsible for giving mass to particles .

By expressing in first way, we can interpret that "Energy can be obtain from mass" while by expressing in 2nd way , we can interpret " Mass can be obtain from Energy". Sir why is net torque due to internal forces zero? Even you have mentioned in book that even if f vectors add to zero then torque vector can be different.
@dhruvbaghel466
8 ай бұрын
Internal forces acts along the line of action between two particles. This is the left over part we generally miss when writing the statement of Newton's 3rd law. Now if force is along the radial vector it can never produce a torque.
