For example, I really enjoy animating, so much that I make little animations on KZitem in my spare time, and yet it’s all self taught. I began baking when I started dieting. I like sweet stuff, but wanted to feel effort in sweets and know what's in them. So I made a deal with myself to only eat sweet stuff I made myself. And I learned sooo much in that year. That baking is not rocket science and that I never ever needed as much sugar, as was contained in store bought cookies for it to taste amazing. Like, I leave out 30% of the sugar in the recipes and taste no difference at all. And for some time I also exchanged another 30% for xylite or other sugars, that you may taste, but can't really digest. That was just one of the things I did in that year, I also followed a diet where I'd eat most of my carbs in the morning and as little as possible in the evenings and I did a lot of sports. But in the end, learning to bake was one of the three corner stones of me losing more then 50 pounds. Little beats knowing what actually goes into your food.
