The actors' food chain goes like this: the Producer is in charge of the money, the Director is in charge of the Story, the Casting Director is in charge of the Auditions, the Talent Agent is in charge of selling the Actors, the Actors are in charge of themselves and of their work. Today we go into a little more detail to help understand what Producers are looking for when casting a project, and some of the things that drive their decisions.
The bottom line for Actors? Since you're in charge of yourself and your work, the best thing that you can do is put yourself so fully and skillfully inside the story that the decision makers can't help but see you as a character. If you bring that into the audition room, then you've done all you can.
