In response, new initiatives, like the automated tray return system has been introduced in several hawker centres where diners pay a 50 cents or 1 dollar deposit to take a food tray. But still, many diners are leaving dirty trays behind. In this second episode of our food tray return crisis, host Diana Ser rolls out a bold new experiment using technology, to force Singaporeans to return their food trays and used crockeries.
