a cool idea too is if you grab a 12 volt relay wire it to the 12 volt out on the pc power supply then have it switch on the screen and other stuff. then everything will power on and off by that one button.

@@markkatain7891 sure I actually made a video on it. it's kinda rough but might get you in the right direction. If you need more info I could go more in depth with how to actually wire it in an arcade 1up. Here's the link m.kzitem.info/news/bejne/sW-Np6CqrYWYhpw

The pin layout for this is different on different models of Elitedesk fyi.

Interesting. I've bought 6 of these so far and they've all been the same. Hopefully they stay that way, or this will be very confusing to people haha.

elitedesk 800 g1 tower motherboard power harness has a jumper wire... ive never been able to find a pinout diagram... but going by how u referenced the pins where pin 1 is top left... it would be pins 1 and 3 are jumpered... i dont see a way to use the external switch without lots of trial and error and reconfiguring the pins to work without the jumper wire if thats possible

I tried to install that on my ACEPC AK1 mini PC, but there was no power sw pin on the motherboard. Instead, I used Alexa Echo as my on/off switch, just by telling Alexa to turn on PC. I was modding my Arcade1up with the ACEPC, but didn't have a power switch.

Thanks, but what was the point of the external power button if you wanted the pc to turn on/off via the power strip?
@KillerArcadeGames
4 жыл бұрын
It’s really only used to cleanly shut down the pc before turning the power off. If you repeatedly shut Windows PCs off without properly shutting them down you’ll probably end up with a corrupt OS. So it shuts it down when the PC is off, I turn off the power strip. I looked for ways to install a Windows embedded OS which would allow for turning it off at any point. It doesn’t appear to be an option for general Windows stuff. More for things like Xbox or even newer arcades, most newer arcade games are simply a PC inside that won’t require shut downs.

Hey buddy could i put a strix 3060 gpu in that elite desk pc i wanna use it for my arcade games
@KillerArcadeGames

I highly doubt you could put that in the Elitedesk. It has to be a low profile card, unless you remove the PC from the case. Then theres the power requirement stuff but I don't know what the limits are of this one. If you want to use a super high end card you might be better building your own PC.

If you really need to find out, I'd look for a model number on the motherboard and google that to find it's manual. They always have pin diagrams in them. Sorry I'm not more helpful on that one.
