David Arredondo awesome!! Great info 🙌🏼. Did you go to circle Bmw in eatontown? That’s where I got the rivets for this car and they were an ease to work with.
@davidarredondo374

yes, circle Bmw, make sure you give the guy at the parts counter "both" 939 and 930 numbers, they initially gave my son the shorter rivets and they said it should work even though the ones that hold the canister are completely different. the shorter head rivets come in a bag of 10 the longer head rivets come in a bag of 4(right and left). I went there yesterday and the guy was pretty good at providing info...hope it helps..

Do you happen to know the dimensions of the rivet or the rivet gun head that you used for both rivet sizes?
@davidarredondo374

The rivets are 1/4, when I got the rivey gun it came with that size already on it, the gun has a little told that allows to exchange the heads.

David Arredondo thank you so much! So I guess 1/4 is a pretty standard size for a rivet. Meaning that any rivet gun should have it.

thought I answer your question before, 1/4 the 1423 rivet gun had it already on when I took it out of the box. if not there is a tool attaches to it that allows the exchange of the heads...hope it helps..

Nezinomas Naujas I can’t remember for sure because this was a few months ago but I believe this bag only had rivets and no bolts. What issues are you having? A lot of times if your buying the bolts and stuff from the dealer they will give you tips on how to do it.

@@GLeszega did you have any damage to your headliner board?, I have a e91 wagon and it split the board right under the rear passenger roof handle. Any tips on removing the headliner board i need to watch out for? Thanks great video

Harrison P luckily the headliner didn’t rip on this car. It’s really hit or miss if it rips or not when the bag deploys. Removing it was extremely easy there really weren’t any snags or anything difficult. The hardest part about removing it on the coupe which you won’t have an issue with was removing the rear side plastic pillars.

If I heard correctly that you are in NJ, do you have a shop that would do this repair? Thx!
@GLeszega

Tom Brieva I knew someone who would do it cheap in Hillsborough but he just moved his shop and dealership to pa. I do know someone in linden but he’s not that cheap. If you get the air bag from a junkyard it should only be around $60 then if you take it to any body shop the job shouldn’t cost you too much because there’s really not much labor involved. Your best bet would be to look for dealerships who only sell salvage cars and they will probably do it the cheapest.

@GLeszega

Tom Brieva no problem. There are a few different ways to play that situation. Figure out the current value of the car and what it would cost you to fix it then ask what the buy back price is. If you do a buy back the car will retain its clean title and you may be able to pocket some cash if you fix it and sell it if the spread is in your favor. You could also take the cash and run but don’t take their first offer do some research on the current resale value through dealers. Get 3 or more prices which are higher than what they are offering you and get them to come up on the pay out for the total. Good luck!

Brady Opalenik you pry up on the little lock on the back of the connector with a small flat head screw driver then pull on the connector to get it out.

@GLeszega
4 жыл бұрын
miro4fun yeah it’s very easy you just pop the center of the connector up with a small flat head screw driver then pull the connector out of the inflator. If you have the center safety popped up and the connector won’t come out or if you can’t get the center safety up chances are the connector melted to the inflator from the detonation. In that case you have to cut the wires and wire in a new connector
