I had lost the bracket thru and was seriously wondering how I was. going to get it back in without having to pull the tire and all that. The idea worked great, and I got everything all straightened around and saved my riding day!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

I accidently left my ignition switch on one day when I got to work. Went to start the bike when I got out and it was dead as it could be. Took the drivers seat off to get to the battery and jumped the bike to get it started again. Went to put the seat back on and I pushed down on the back of the seat to seat it on the bolts coming through the fender, when all of a sudden the plastic holding gromets gave way and the bolt bracket landed on the ground. I was deflated because I thought for sure I would have to pull the rear tire to get that bracket back on. Then I found this video and EUREKA!!!! Thanks a ton, this did the trick!

Found myself needing to reattach this bracket over the weekend. Couldn't find a flexible magnet in our small town on a Sunday so I improvised. I fed fishing line thru the two holes in the fender. Taped the fishing line to the bolts on the bracket and VERY carefully pulled it into place. Took a little doing, but it worked.

I've laid awake wondering about this one because I have a new fender and seat to install with bare wholes. Now I see the seat nuts you showed for sale on eBay. My last seat was a tractor style that did not use any nuts, so I was unfamiliar with the process until this video, thanks!

When I put the front seat on the forward part seems really loose even though it is in the slot. I bought this bike used, so is there something I am missing or are the back screws supposed to hold the whole set in place?
@gonetouringaustralia
9 жыл бұрын
Bruce Jackson Hi Bruce, the Front seat should be fixed tighly with the two mounting nuts that the rear seat locates on. There is a small amount of movement in front of the rear set until the rear has been firmly screwed down.
@brucejackson1055

so I just used your video to replace a lost screw under the fender that got lost...I used this grabber and attached the screw to the end of it. It was a flexible wire thingy...then I really needed to use some telephone wire in the house but found this thin elastic cord...I first put the cord through the hole in the fender where the seat is connected, took my skinny hand and went in between the wheel and the fender, grabbed the cord, my friend held the other end of the cord, tied my end of the cord double knotted to the screw, which is being held by the grabber, went up the side of the fender with the grabber with the screw on it, my friend is pulling the cord slightly guiding me to the hole, then he used the magnet metal stick ( which looks like a broken antenna that also comes in the package) which guided my flexible thingy with the screw on it to the hole and instantly it went to the hole! VOILA!! All in under a minute...it was a miracle...then I put a nut on it so it doesn't fall through again and then we re-attached the seat. It costs $5 in Walmart, called "Hyper Tough 3-piece retrieval tool set". The 3rd piece comes with a magnetic ashtray so you don't lose your nuts and screws! So well worth the money!!
