Recipe: Ingredients: 6 large eggs White vinegar (optional**just for boiling**) 1/2 cup of soy sauce (low sodium recommended) 1/4 cup water 1/4 cup mirin 2 tablespoons granulated sugar Instructions: 1.Bring a pot of water to a boil and gently place the eggs in the boiling water. Let the eggs boil for 6 minutes for the perfect soft boiled eggs. *If you wish, add some vinegar to the water. This will make the eggs a bit easier to peel, especial when the eggs are not hard boil eggs. Use 2 tablespoons 2.remove eggs and put into ice bath after 6 minutes 3. make the soy marinade. In the marinating container or a bowl, combine the soy sauce, water, mirin, and sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. If the marinate was made in a bowl, transfer to the container that you'll be marinating in. 4.peel the eggs then add into the marinade and let is soak for at least 8hrs (best overnight) ** if all the eggs aren’t fully submerged before sure rotate the eggs occasionally**

@@cutiebirdie2216 the sugar balances the soy sauce, so you can try going without but it would taste different. its only for marinade, you dont drink it, so so you're probably not consuming a lot of sugar this way

My little experience for all folks out there wondering about soft boiling the eggs. Wait for the water to boil THEN put ur eggs in (don't put eggs in cold water from the beginning, that's hard for the timing). Boil the eggs for 6 and a half mins or 7 mins max, then IMMEDIATELY put them in ice water (to prevent the eggs to keep cooking themselves). A little bit of vinegar or salt in water while boiling is for easy peeling, not for seasoning. Since it's soft-boiled, be very careful when you peel, u wanna use your fingertips, not your nail cuz you might split and crack the eggs Edit: If it's quail eggs, then do the same as above but you just need to boil them for 2 mins

Thanks. I totally messed up the peeling and was wondering how to peel nicely without damaging the egg. Soft boil peeling is not easy like hard boil.

I never boil them anymore. I steam them in 2cm of water. Faster, more efficient, cloned results every time.

PLEASE ADD THE MEASUREMENTS. Make the marinade. While the eggs are cooling, make the marinade by combining soy sauce, water, mirin, and sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.

@Dakota Cheadle we do that! But we avoid with soft boil eggs because too much pressure and we had some eggs split or start cracking😅

You can crack it a bit & soak it back in the ice bath for a few minutes then it can easily peeled...I'm too scared to do roll method cuz I'll end up smashing them 😂

REMEMBER: You need to poke a tiny hole in the bottom of the eggshell with a needle prior to cooking. Otherwise, it may not work right.

No need vinegar also can peel the egg shell easilly, put vinegar even hv a strange smell, Instantly the egg into ice water or just cold water will do then take out from the cold water. This is differecial compression of hot and cold theory.

It's probably good to use one or two more times if left in the fridge, but I wouldn't recommend going more than that. You can also use the sauce to marinate protein to not waste.

You can place a paper towel on the eggs to make them soak completely into the marinade. And if you let them soak during 48 hours, they will be completely brown inside :)

I've never been able eat undercooked eggs, as nice as they look i can't tolerate any raw egg taste of egg, it has to be hard boiled or really well cooked eggs not burnt, no egg that is undercooked in any way 🤢🤢🤢.

Only bad eggs float in water, try using the most fresh you can find, also i learned that by moving the eggs constantly while in the pot you get the yolk always in the center

Hello 🖐 The way I boil my eggs for yolk like that is once the water starts to boil, set to medium heat then set the eggs in for 6 minutes for runny yolk. 8 minutes soft yolk

I use them as soon as overnight but I use them for up to 1 1/5 weeks and I prefer them when they sit longer they get more flavourful and more jammy
