One of my goals this year is to read the bible for one hour daily, and to write scriptures in prayer form. I'm doing this because with everything that's going on, God doesn't respond to our emotions, He responds only to His Word, so I have to begin doing this for me.

I am really enjoying this series and learning quite a bit. I watch a few other KZitem videos on the same topic. This causes KZitem to kindly suggest more of the same. Lately, KZitem is suggesting videos on goals vs. systems. Do you have any input on this? Some time over the new year I would like to hear your take on whether there is a difference and whether the systems are better than goals.

I'm an anxious perfectionist and it's hard for me to set a goal for the entire year. Is it too specific? Is it too broad? If I don't get it just right or quit will I be a failure? I'm really thinking about setting up my 2022 planner in 4 month sections and implementing many of the ideas you've shared in this series. I'm hoping that time frame will feel more manageable for me ... so I can organize my life and achieve my dreams! Love that part!

While these are lovely reminders of what is important to you, they are not truly goals. Goals require ambition and effort beyond what you are currently doing. If you are already doing those things (and you admit doing the same goals every year), there isn’t much effort to accomplish them. The purpose of setting goals is to push you outside your comfort zone a bit to accomplish new and different things. This is a great way to remind yourself of what is important to you and to keep focused on that - but it is just a reminder, not a true goal.
@blanchesplace-vintageinspi505

I don't think there is one correct way to write the goals that are important to you. I find Alaina 's method the first that actually made sense and doable, which leads to the more expensive goals. I don't believe there is one way to write goals as there is no one way to plan
@loriallred4727

@@blanchesplace-vintageinspi505I understand what you are staying - and maybe if this video had been titled “Goal exploration” or “Goal preparation” I wouldn’t have felt the need to speak up. But the video is entitled “Creating goals”, so I wanted to point out that these are not goals. Written well, goals are SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound). And the definition of a goal is something that pushes you to reach for something you don’t have/aren’t doing. Alaina wrote lovely reminders to do what is important to her and nothing is wrong” with that at all. But this is not a video about how to write goals.

@@JessicaSmith-ie7cm I am technical in my definition of a goal, not sure how that’s “politically correct.” You may be right about the title being sufficient for her “target audience,” but i thought by watching her videos, I would be considered part of her target audience. To me it was almost clickbait - which i am sure was NOT Alaina’s intention. But I was anticipating her teaching how to integrate her life categories and habits into measurable annual goals. That was not this video. I was just suggesting a more appropriate title - that’s all. I really enjoy her videos!
