Did you know that ‘no added sugar’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘NO added sugar’?
Big-Food knows we’re all trying to cut back on sugar. But they also know that our tongues love sweet stuff!
So, over the years, they’ve come up with over 50 different sugar substitutes, that don’t sound anything like sugar. And, in some cases, don’t even need to be declared as sugar.
But as a consumer, how does one sniff these out? Also, how does one decode these other strange sounding things like Maltitol and Sucralose and INS-150d or E621??
No worries. In this video, we’ll show you how to identify the problematic stuff, and keep it at bay.
More specifically, we go over:
1. Hidden Sugars (there are 4 kinds!)
2. Added flavours, colours & preservatives
3.Natural sounding things that might not be so innocent
