The video covers all the necessary steps to change your front left brake rotor and pads on a 2002 Ford Taurus. Also, I have made a video showing the procedure for the right front. 1. From 00:00 to 01:12, the front left side of the car is lifted, a jack stand is placed under the engine cradle, and the front left tire and wheel are removed.
2. From 01:13 to 2:00, the brake caliper and brake pads are removed.
3. From 2:01 to 2:20, the brake caliper is secured out of the way.
4. From 2:21 to 03:57, the brake caliper bracket and rotor are removed.
5. From 03:58 to 05:28, the new brake rotor is removed from its packaging and is prepared for installation on the car.
6. From 05:29 to 07:38, the brake caliper bracket pad mounting areas are sanded free of rust, and the brake caliper pins are checked for smooth operation.
7. From 07:39 to 08:41, the brake rotor and caliper bracket are installed.
8. From 08:42 to 11:32, the brake pads and caliper are installed.
9. From 11:33 to 13:39, the tire and wheel are installed, and after removing the jack stand and sitting the car on the garage floor, the wheel lug nuts are torqued to 100 foot-pounds.
10. From 13:40 to 14:03, the brake pedal is pumped until the brake caliper piston is extended back to its proper location.
