I recently stumbled upon this video and can only recommend it for tall people. I am a bit over 2 meters and this is the only knot which looks good and where the small part of the tie stays long enough to fit into the little holder. Wish I had already found this gem 10 years ago. Big thumbs up!

Thanks! Was using full Windsor because it was symmetrical. But will switch to this one as it is not as big and as you say, "The dimple is automatic". Notice this was made 8 years ago. Hope this post finds you in good health.

Thanks, Don. I've tied the Shelby Knot since about 1989. It's the only knot I ever use. But just like we see at the 1:40 mark, on about 80% of my first tries, the little end's length is too long, and requires additional attempts to get both lengths right. Because there is so little tie length being used in the knot itself, I typically have to get the ends nearly aligned. But it's all worth it, because it is a great looking knot, and one that is perfectly symmetrical without being huge.

@@kd9axo This is actually the same knot as Pratt. Pratt has the following steps: Lo-Ci-Lo-Ri-Co-T. And Mr. Don Shelby showed the same steps. He simply said that at first he moves the small end over the large end, but after this movement, he began to move the large end from the Lo step. And he made all the steps of the Pratt knot any way. The only difference is that he turned the narrow end inward when he finished tying the knot. You can do the same with the Pratt knot if you need that detail. But all the basic steps are the same.
