And those are the ones that are complaining or questioning how they are taking care of their animals. SMH! My tolerance is about zero now for these kind of ppl. The ones that have the latest electronics, the latest $200 shoes, a brand new luxury vehicle, their nails done, their cigarettes, but bring their child to the ER for a fever. (Why? Bc they didn't have the $$ to buy Tylenol or Motrin for them.) 🙄🙄🤨 This is a huge pet peeve that I have. 😡

USUALLY. you'll hear comments like that from the peanut gallery who have no idea of how to feed these animals. Those of us who do, because we have them ourselves, can tell what is in that scoop and where it came from (the barrel) that it's scratch grains, and you DON'T feed scratch grains as a regular diet, but as a treat, a snack, a supplement. My chickens (31+) get a free range formula pelleted feed in their feeders... they get that in the morning, when I knock the feed down into the trays for them. I do this because they would go through an entire 40# bag of feed in one day if I let them have free access 16 hours a day (at night, they don't get any access to food, when they should be asleep). So, in the afternoons, they're waiting patiently for their scratch grain toss, where I'll toss several handfuls of the scratch grain out in their run, so they can hunt and sratch for it, like they would, if they were truly free ranging. I'm trying to emulate their behavior if they were allowed to free range as much as possible, as they can't where I live... within the township city limits where neighbors are close. A couple of my birds have gotten out, and the two neighbors would come get me, to show me where they were, or brought them back, themselves, petting the birds as they did. They have no problem with the one or two birds, but all 31+, that wouldn't be neighborly. LOL!

@@rhondaalbrecht Exactly! The armchair warriors love to complain about people they watch once in a while and have no clue how it really works. You only get a small portion of their day, no matter which channel it is, and based on 15 - 30 minutes of their life they are going to talk smack! SMH! My chickens can't free range either because of very high predator pressure but they are in a huge run on deep mulch and scratch is given once a day so they can scratch, hunt, and peck and stay busy like a chicken wants to be.
