It's fantastic that these cars use ready-to-go off-the-shelf components, readily available software and easily replaceable/upgradeable batteries. Even though doing this makes the interior look kinda like a DIY project, I way prefer that to vehicles that are completely custom and unrepairable, if a button or switch breaks you can change it out within the same day by just dropping by your local auto parts store. Also goes to show even with a compact design you can still build a product to be repair-focused if you just put in a bit of thought and effort. I wish all companies built products that were this right-to-repair focused, would make a world of difference for their longevity and ease of use repairability.

"The lights are on all the time when the key is on. You can't turn them off." Honestly, this is how cars should be. If daytime running lights are good for safety (and they are), and if digital instrument clusters make it less obvious to drivers when they should turn on illumination (and they do), then just have the lights on all the damn time. Have the lighting circuit get powered by a "hot with key on" source, or whatever the equivalent is called in this largely keyless day and age.

At least in the Impalas from that era there was no switch to change that behavior, although I have since driven cargo vans that have additional options (though the behavior I've described is available and what I leave it on). @@benjaminmiddaugh2729 did they? The GMs I have experience with had an “auto” position on the switch that used some sort of sensor and would turn the lights on when it got dark enough. Subaru used to have their lights “hot with key on” (source: my 1996 Legacy Outback, 1997 Impreza Brighton, 2002 Impreza TS) and later went to “hot with key in” (2012 Impreza) with an auxiliary switch to turn the parking lights on without the keys. I don’t know if they still do that, but it was just about perfect in my opinion.

The little suv joke at the beginning is exactly how I feel about our pickups, literally no reason to have them be that damn big

I have a 92 Honda Acty and my BIL's 91 and 00 are huge in comparison to be rated to roughly the same weight. And those are supposed to be the tiny ones

But how else can you have plausible deniability for pelting other random cars with loaves of bread?

Suggestion: To override the missing outside door key lock, maybe you can install an emergency cable-pull lock designed to unlock an electric garage door from the outside when there is no other way to get into the garage other than through the main roll up door. If the garage door opener breaks or when the power is out, it's still possible to get into the garage by using the cable pull to unlatch the door from the drive chain without having to be inside the garage. To install it on the Solo, drill and mount the lock behind the license plate in the back so it doesn't show. Since it has a key lock, it's reasonably secure, should look like it belongs there, and it's very simple. Unlocking it pulls the entire lock barrel out which is attached to a cable and attached on the other end to whatever part of the front door latch that will unlock the door when you pull on it. Garage door cable pull locks are cheap and placed behind the license plate out of sight means it won't mess up the OEM looks. Something to consider.

Wire the jump point from under the bonnet to an Anderson connector and leave it somewhere accessible but hidden. Perhaps behind the fake grille sticker?

I'm really enjoying the fact, that he decided to re-edit and re-shot some footage to keep the world informed about these unique specimen of automotive propulsion, all while not making it noticeable to the untrained eye, that this is not the first time this video has gone online

Watching and commenting to help the algorithm along. Also to mention that the outer and inner door handles seem to be GM bits, Opel Insignia and Buick Regal, probably others too. But my Opel had a normal keyhole on the drivers door, built into the handle.
