Cool build. I have an 85 gallon tub in my master bathroom that I'd like to use as a cold plunge. I don't intend to drill into the tub though, just put the tubing over the edge. Can you (or someone) please provide the best brand option for a water chiller and pump? Also with this set-up do you run the chiller and pump all the time or only a few hours before you plunge? Thank you.

I would worry about condensation buildup under your tub causing mold/rotting if it isnt fully insulated.

@@DIYColdPlunge But what if it's a high quality Hydroluxe SS free-standing tub (vs. one that's built into the house/bathroom infrastructure)?
@DIYColdPlunge

Quality of the tub honestly doesn't really matter, insulation is what will keep it from sweating... If has that built in you are *probably* ok, but if not it will have condensation @@jblo76

i have been searching for a system to do hot plunge next to cold plunge. could you kindly share some details, tips regarding the in-line heater you have set up. would it work for another material? ie plastic lile and i e barrel?
@DIYColdPlunge

The heater is dependent on the plumbing system more so than the tub. But you'll want to look for a whirlpool/bathutb heater that is pressure activated (they come in pressure and vacuum) and put it after your pump.

The in-line heater has a bonding wire. Is there a place that gets linked to or did you just skip that part?

How exactly is the tub insulated? Is it pre-insulated or are you pumping foam into it or something else?

Very nice build! Resembles the Plunge brand tub. I have an ice barrel 400 that I've been buying bags of ice to plunge with but would love to insulate and add a chiller and filtration to.. any chance you would be willing to create build plans for one?

First off thanks for your work. Your plans are done very well and easy to understand. I'm currently building a 150 gallon Rubbermaid plunge. I'm in the midwest and fighting freeing solid. I'm wondering what is the max temp i could expect to reach in freezing temps outdoors? Im considering adding this to my build if i could use it as a hot tub occasionally. But if it will not get up to 104- 105 when its single digit weather I'll probably go with a stock tank heater. Also I was wondering if you have heard of anyone putting ice melt cable or heat trace on the exterior of the tub before spray foaming?
@DIYColdPlunge

I haven't heard of anyone doing that, not even sure where I'd start but it sounds cool. I can't say yet what the heater will do in the extreme cold, but I'll be testing it this year.

How does this maintain cold temps in hot weather compared to the other build? Never looked into how insulated the free standing tubs are.

I can't say for sure, but theres at least a full 1.25 inches of insulation around the thinnest part. It does not come insulated.

I have a quick question about the Ozone Generator. Would your method (using venturi) be safer for pets near by? Initially, I wanted to install JED303, but the instruction specifically warns that no pets/persons should be near the area until it is fully dissipated/ventilated (which takes around 6 hours). So, we did not go with the JED303 because our pet and the cold plunge are both situated in our garage. In short, if Ozone using the venturi method is safer for our dog, I would love to make the purchase. Please advise.

This will be safer, especially on a timer bc it is a lower mg/hr... however I can't say for sure. there are alot of factors to consider. I hear a lot of hype about potential harm, but I have so many people in my FB group running ozone and haven't heard a single case.
