Also, anatomy is different for everyone. As a yoga instructor, I always remind my students that stretching goals are great but your anatomy is going to determine what your body can do. Not everyone will be able to have their knees on the ground in that elevated cobbler pose as you showed and that’s perfectly fine. I have one student who is so strong and flexible and has been trying for 15 years with sandbags on her knees to get that deep of a stretch. It’s not going to happen

True. I'm not getting anywhere with my pigeon pose. Doesn't matter, how often or long I try. I can only do it with my front leg almost completely folded under. My hip won't tolerate my foot coming further forwards 🤷🏻♀️

David, I know there's probably a ton of videos to watch for these stretches, and I'm open to them, but I find your personality trustworthy. It doesn't hurt your credibility when you bring your wife into the videos either. I'm starting to do these stretches with your advice, and it feels great. At 61, I've been driving a truck for 31 years, and all this sitting has taken a toll on my back. Thanks again. Keep up the good work, and I hope you're successful with life and take care of that baby!

I have a raised toilet seat because getting on and off the toilet caused an overuse injury due to really bad chronic issues and the injury has never healed properly. When the toilet seat is higher it means it's easier to get on and off however my feet don't hit the floor as comfortably so I use yoga blocks, they're the perfect height for what I need :D I love this video, I feel like it packs in a good amount of information to a short time.

I love your channel with lots of great advice to gain flexibility, actually 'openess' in yoga. As a thirty year yoga practitioner I can say that being over flexible is not good for yoga if the muscles, all muscles that can be -depending on the pose- are not working hard, five minute poses, e.g. In a forward bend, e.g. the quads are working so hamstrings can release. Yoga is not simply 'stretching,' but form, applied strength, balance, of course. In standing poses, warrior 2, for example, the outstretched arms, quads, calfs, and core are all working. A strong core, in particular, is fundamental to nearly all poses, like barre.
