For all new or beginning users, here is a tip: make sure to turn on the instructor window! In this video, we'll explain how to use it when you are getting to know how different tools work.
Thanks Aaron, Instructor was invaluable to me when first starting with Sketchup and I still refer back to it from time to time when using commands that aren't part of my daily arsenal as it were.

I have ignored the instructor tool completely, not realizing the info available. Not any more. Thank you!

What I would like to know is how to MOVE entitys from one component to another. E.g. I have a component Console and the subcomponent Base is in the component Console, but I want that Base moved to the Component Foundation. Or is that only possible by exploding stuff and maken new components?

It should be there. You may have to re-enable the 'Default Tray' to see it.

Stop saying "You Know". We don't "know". You are instructing us.
