the pork used in there tonkatsu is of such a high quality that the fat and meat render beautifully while deep friend, the eggs are cooked to perfection and the katsu sauce looks to be sweet and savory which pairs well with the meat and eggs and rice, truly a wonderful meal and food

I spent several months in Japan in the mid 80's. At that time, they did not put egg with Tonkatsu. It was Rice, Pork Cutlet with sauce, and a little bit of shredded cabbage.

That is still the way it is served most of the time. Rice, cabbage, sauce and cutlet.
