I wish we have more decent judges like in Texas. Here in Seattle, they so soft on criminals while victims suffer from lenient punishment, esp repeat offenders. Judge saved this woman’s life . My 26 years old brother had an argument, walked away was shot in back dead, court gave his killer 6 years. Despicable injustice. An 67 years old middle eastern taxi driver I knew went in to pay gas, was badly assaulted by black dude unprovoked, results in broken front tooth, damaged shoulder injuries…Seattle cop said, what do you want me to do, he’s mentally ill. … so he gave up, truly sickening lawless society when there’s no accountability for violent criminals but excuses, probations like giving out criminals cookies

Oh boo hoo, he hits women. Would people care as much about a woman hitting a man? No, I don't think they would. Plus, some women actually like getting hit. They get a sexual thrill from it. And then there are others that totally deserve it. If someone is being a bitch and yapping endlessly, or saying things you don't want them to say, how the hell are you supposed to shut them up without hitting them? The Bible is very clear on this: it is the man's right, nay his responsibility, to control his woman and make sure she keeps her dumb little mouth shut unless she's being spoken to. Just think about how awful this world would be if we just let women go around saying anything they felt like saying? The world would be full of wars and inequality, instead of the amazingly fair and prosperous world that men have managed to create by dominating their women. Wake up, sheeple!

Did you see the bully's reaction at the end of the video when the judge called him a bully (again)? He certainly doesn't like being called that! But, from a logical perspective, there's no other term that would describe him! I don't like being called a b!tch but when I'm acting like one, what should I expect? Have someone tell me that my actions are justified because someone pissed me off enough to bring out by inner b!tch? No! We all have a choice in how we handle conflict...we can choose to handle it in a rational way or we choose to handle it like a bully or a b!tch. When we choose the latter, consequences follows....

Yes, this every father's nightmare, and what's even scarier, when we try to interfere to protect them, it usually backfires and they end up getting closer and we end up being the bad guy. I've been so lucky with my daughter, she dumped first boyfriend when after high school he was trying to deter her from continuing her schooling. In my younger days though, I beat the sh!t out of (my now brother in law) my sister's turd for a boyfriend after she called me for help. Only for me ending up sleeping on a cold slab, while the two id!ots slept together in their warm bed. Needless to say, the two id!ots are still together, and she's still miserable, but I told her that unless she wants me to pick her up and move her out of the alcoholic's house, then dont bother me with your bullsh!t dramma. What's worse is my nephew is now a carbon copy turd like his father, and my sister is the only one to blame for that. So ya, these turds are a nightmare for father, and brothers, lol!

@@CindyLouWho77 Well, apparently you didn’t get the judge’s analogy about “how many times are you going to burn yourself on the stove before you learn your lesson”? I intervened with my sister back in the day, for the other reason this judge started. If you’re not going to learn your lesson, then someone has to intervene, so in my sister’s case, she’s sure as heck isn’t going to change anything. Mined you that my sister called me because she didn’t want to call the cops on her drunk boyfriend abusing her. Some 30 years later she is still getting beat, but now in front of her kids. Just recently my sisters called our mother because my brother in law was bragging down the door to get to her. So this time I just called the cops and they took him in, only for my sister to bail him out, and refused to press charges. So yes, I get your point, my sister is the victim, but come on already, 30 years in that reoccurring sh!t show? At a certain point there has to be accountability. Who knows, maybe my sister loves the drama, so her choosing to stay, that’s on her, but my nephew has no choice, and should not live in that sh!t show. Unfortunately it’s to late for my nephew, and I told my sister that much, he’s acting up in school, and started getting arrested young, he even was arrested for beating his girlfriend in a drugged up stupor, I blame my sister for that, I will not apologize for that. As far as for me, there’s no pity to n my part. I learned my lesson the first time, you won’t catch me getting burnt twice, lol. How that lawyer can walk out of court and not feel dirty is amazing. Yes, he is doing his job, but he did it horribly by blaming the victim.
@ki5aok

Unfortunately, that's his job. If he didn't try to either get his client off or at least try to get him a reduced sentence, then he could be disbarred. This is why lawyers do not like public defender duties. They may get someone like this that they know should spend a long time in jail, but must do everything possible to get their client a reduced sentence, otherwise risk being disbarred.

@@lohengrin4009 I'm thinking that the defendant's lawyer is either a public defender or a court-appointed attorney (I'm going to presume court-appointed attorney as I found out there are not many public defender offices. For example, I live in Houston, which the metroplex encompass eight counties. Out of those eight counties, only Harris and Fort Bend counties have public defender offices. The other six use the courts to appoint private attorneys as public defenders.) They could request a removal if they feel they can't adequately represent their client, however that removal could expose the attorney to sanctions from the state bar, up to and including disbarment.

WOW! I could have kissed the judge or cried when he said "victims have lost trust with the way the system works, especially in family instances. They don't know who to trust anymore." There are SO many judges who don't grasp that. I've seen judges admonish a care giving parent for not coming back to a court to get changes made to parenting orders when the other parent has stopped seeing a child, or cases when a parent who didn't have primary custody & is paying child support to the other parent, is suddenly GIVEN the custody of the child, full time - and of course is delighted by this - but continues to pay the support to the parent who has abandoned the child. The judges say "how could you be so irresponsible as to not follow the court orders, or tell the court if the other parent is not following them" And the answer is always that they do not trust what will happen. Strangers get involved. They make decisions in a few minutes, that will affect your life for decades. All it requires is ONE person in all those strangers, to be having an off day, or for them to be kind of a jerk and BOOM your entire life, and your child's life, is blown up. it is brilliant to see a Judge understand that. The defense attorney is an ass. ONe can see why the defendant gets on with him.

During the final rebuttal the defender opened up by saying, "I don't understand her" and yeah, it is clear he doesn't. She's been manipulated into thinking she's not worthy of a family and can't take care of her daughter, she's been beaten into not realizing there are people who will help her, and failed before by the system that should have protected her. This is a step in the right direction and hopefully she is able to be reunited with her daughter and find some peace and a chance to have something resembling a stable life.

this was a plea agreement. The agreement was advantageous for the defendant because the original charges would have probably sent him away for a lot longer period. The plea is advantageous to the state because it saves money on a trial, prevents the uphill battle of trying a man whose victim is taking his side, and guarantees some sort of admission to the crime. In many cases, if this were the first time, probation could have been an option, even deferrment; but not in this case, not with this history. The judge can refuse the plea on certain LEGAL grounds, but that's rarely done when they do something like this. He still played within the bounds of the sentencing guidelines and got the job done, and sent a message at the same time. If they had to fight a babies momma who was trying her hardest to sabotage their case, it could have gone the other way real easy in front of a jury.
