As an attorney, we try to avoid needing a lawyer but occasionally some of the less than upstanding ones, or just the so so ones will find themselves arrested for a poor choice or landing themselves in contempt and a good lawyer is needed to clean up the mess. That isn't to say we don't utilize the services of another attorney regularly. Some of my best clients are other lawyers. I find it interesting that Texas seems to have s different way of handling nolo contendere. I've come to learn that even an attorney trained in criminal law who doesn't take part in the court aspect is ill-equipped to represent anyone there without some preparation. Heck, even someone who only does defense and jumps into the prosecutor role, or vice versa**, makes mistakes that can hurt their case. There are examples of this kind of dumpster fire on KZitem. So it makes perfect sense that this business lawyer is completely out of her depth. _**It's definitely possible to do well at both, but that's done as an intentional choice with preparation._ _I'm talking about when a firm goes, "We need another lawyer in court today. You, prosecutor, go fill in for the defense attorney and question the star witness. What? No, you don't have time to talk with anyone else on the team first, you're already late!"_

I really don’t like how she was trying to use the fact that she’s a (seemingly not very good) lawyer to get out of her bond conditions, and I feel like Judge Stevens went a little too easy on her. And why is she holding a stuffed monkey? This was bizarre.

What do you call the person who was last in their class and had the lowest passing grade on the bar exam? Lawyer.

She insists on defending herself. Her hubris is not working in her favor. It's probably not the first or the last time she pulls a knife out in an argument. She barely got a slap on the wrist.
