Wonderful. in Australia we have a saying, "have a go, ya mug!" (similar to "just do it!" but not trademarked) meaning stop sitting there being negative when you should just get up and try something and see what happens. Thank you Jack for trying something and seeing it grow and grow.

I've heard this story from you three times at three different venues and i never get tired of it. I'm a playwright and part of my living had to do with theater patrons. Every small or huge town has theaters with a patronage so playwrights can be paid and theaters can be rebuilt--or get new sound or lighting etc etc. The concept of 'Patrons' is so old and yet you were the only person who came up with the idea to us iton youtube. Yay for you--also yay for Nataly and her new album! THANKS TO PATREON.

This video was inspiring AF. I was doin’ good, bobbing my head like “yeah, he’s right!”, up until the last few seconds of the video, when a tear or two decide to make its way out of my eyes, and I realized just how right you were. Thanks for inspiring thousands (maybe millions?) of people Jack!

I honestly was not expecting this to be as inspiring as it was; instead of forming an airtight plan and knowing every step, we should just try and expect to fail... Thanks Jack! You're a huge inspiration to me.

I also love that you got to meet with Casey, I knew there was no way he could pass up meeting with you, you guys are going to do great things together! You are revolutionary! Peace ✌️💖🙏

It doesn't matter why I'm doing it, it doesn't matter where it's going, it doesn't matter who is listening: I just feel it's really important for me to be creative everyday and make great stuff! I wear the "Social Media Strategy" hat as part of my "Business Consultant" outfit, and I have to say it does have a place in the world, namely when some of the great stuff just can't get traction. It is a monster though spawned of marketing and shouldn't be taken serious completely. If you create greatness and truly let it out in the world, eventually it'll get noticed by someone.

Excellent. You found a way to monetize your intangible product (music). Note that the idea of patronage has been around for a long time, and it keeps emerging when people are free of oversight and lawyers. For example, the area of shenzhen was designed to be free of legal oversight and it evolved into a thriving community of innovators.

Oooh, I love this! I love to create videos and to write but somehow I easily start to think that something is not right. I don't have enough time, I'm not good enough, I probably won't succeed, I don't have the right gear, et cetera. And boy, it's annoying! Lately, I've been telling myself to shut the fuck up and start creating again, to make the stuff that I love to make. And it feels good! Feeling excited about the future for the first time in a long, long time.

Hats off to you Jack - Patreon is exactly what was needed. Such a simple idea too - get people to pay for what they love so that the creator gets paid for doing what they love doing (ie making things that people love). I remember you launching Patreon and thinking "What a great idea - go for it" and now the company name is featured all over the place. Keep the amazing work going, but please can you find time to make some more ace music videos too?

As much as I agree with 'JUST CREATE' and how 'posting at certain times' is the worst - it's so necessary for small creatives. As someone who's been struggling w instagram in particular it's SOO much more than just getting out there and 'creating' - having a following makes ALL the difference. If I were to make a patreon I'd get like $2. It's so much more than just to create, nowadays anyway.
