I do have bone on bone and hike 3 miles a day, yoga 3-4 times a week and do weight lifting 2-3 times a week with my husband. I am feeling super strong and want to avoid surgery as long as possible. I’m not as flexible as I’d like and work on that. I don’t have a lot of pain and the osteo surgeon was surprised I don’t. Probably because I’m so active. I can do chair sits and half squats but can’t get too low before pain hits. So that is my only limitation. I found rolling out and the infrared sauna really helps too. I work hard to keep moving, staying positive and trying to remember that at my age (almost 66) that I’m not 30 anymore and I will have some changes in my body. I’m grateful for my health and my abilities. Thanks for this episode.

Thank you for this info...it is very reassuring to hear. I have 2x reconstruction of ACL Rt & Lt knee + meniscus tear. Last x-ray showed osteophytes and "bone on bone". Surgeon wanted to do an arthroscopy on both knees. I declined as I have no pain, just instability and some discomfort. I have continued to exercise, trying to decrease the jumping exercises as much as possible.I definitely feel that this keeps the knees strong and mobile,even though they crackle and pop like cooking popcorn .

Love this episode, what is the squishy noise in my knees when I bend deep? Thanks

I guess it could be a lot of different things. As long as it's not painful or causing restrictions, keep training within it!

Hi. I honestly have a question about hip internal rotation. I’ve been doing a lot of external rotation exercises of the hip and I still can’t get into the lotus position. My knees won’t even hit the ground in the butterfly position. Is my lack of internal rotation the cause of it? If so, then what are the exercises I can do to improve my mobility, flexibility, and knee health? I can’t even get into the 90 90 position ;-;

Lack of hip mobility can definitely put more pressure on the knees. I'd keep working on other variations of hip internal rotation to keep progressing here!
