Sitting in a cool theater on a scorching hot Texas day, munchin' popcorn, having no idea what this movie was about, a 13-yr old girl learned about English kids, different accents, and most of all: racism. To this day, the song To Sir With Love makes me cry. In a good way. Such a deep, lifelong impression this one had on me. 🎥🎭👍💙

That is such a wonderful idea. My mom turned me onto "The Imitation of Life" the black and white version and the color version with Lana Turner and Juanita Moore. To Sir With Love and Imitation are two of the all time top of the line tear jerker movies, that make a grown man cry. I don't know what was sadder at the end of this movie, Sydney telling Pamela goodbye, or the little tiny oriental girl bringing Sir his present, and of course, Lulu. Three tear jerkers at the end of one movie. Class

Judy's dancing skills are no surprise, A nineteen year old English girl would have danced quite well for the times, it was the hip, swinging 60s after all. The British music scene was happening!A time of great excitement and exploration. Everything was happening at this time in history, especially music, art, style and self expression! England was a bit ahead of the United States in this aspect and I'm from the United States.

This is one of those scenes, where if you had two left feet and couldn't look a girl in the eye in high school, you could experience it in a way that's realer than if it had ever really happened, through this scene. It's just magical. I remember watching this for the first time, as a kid. There was no MTV, no pay TV. I had this idea that it might be this great movie. It was playing in the morning, which was odd. Unfortunately, it didn't work the other way around, that seeing this as a kid and me being transformed into this super 'dude,' for all 'dance-related' occasions. Sidney Poitier really got my attention.

He had to have been private as there should most definately should have been an interview of this amazing teacher in the history of film somewhere! Im certain he was a goldmine of wisdom and wonder. He certainly deserved exceptional recognition. Teachers out there. Order bundles of his book and pass To sir with love out to your students. I just ordered my own paoerback again. Its timeless values we should pass on to all generations! These are not things we should let go dusty on bookshelves. These are values that should be honored through our lifetimes. 🌷
