While I think Clancy Brown and Michael Rossenbaum give the best portrayals of Lex Luthor , I must admit I like Michael Cudlitz's take on the character . They really dial into what makes him so dangerous : his indomitable will. Luthor will stop at nothing to get what he wants and if you're unfortunate to cross him he'll make you regret it in the worst way possible . There's something about Michael Cudlitz body language that conveys he's in full control. Like when he threatens the warden, his eyes have a sharp fix , but there's also a certain level of low key glee behind the stare . While threatening the warden is a pragmatic move to get him to do his bidding , Luthor actually enjoys putting the fear into him and exerting power over him .

This is such a different take on Luthor. I love it. I always respect a show that takes a risk, and love it even more when it pays off big like this. Supergirl, and Superman had two completely different Lex Luthors. They were both strange, unexpected, extremely different, and perfect for each show. I really hope to see this level of quality, and creativity in the new round of DC movies. I'm cautious about getting my hopes up, but things like this are what make me wait and give every new approach, a chance to make me happy. It also means I don't really mind when something falls short. Sooner or later, something like this Lex will come along, and blow me away, again.

If you were familiar with the comics you would realize Jesse Eisenbergs take is based on portrayals in the comics from Superman: Birthright. It is a younger more eccentric genius scientist Lex before he loses his hair and becomes that calm and cold businessman.
