Any new Burn-in test on your OLED. You use it as PC monitor right? If it's the same one, what hours do you have now and any chance of a video showing any burn in test.

Well this proves why people shouldnt jump to conclusions and that includes myself. That being said. I watched Vincents video on the 48inch C2 and I am sorry but I wasnt impressed with what I saw. I will stick with my new C1 which is a beautiful tv in every way PQ and build wise. It dont get much better for me when it comes to a tv. Is the C2 brighter? Yes it is but there is a reason why LG dropped the pixel cleaning thing from I believe 2000 hours to 500 hours. Correct me if I am wrong on that anyone. But the reason for the change I believe is the brighter you get the more chance of burn in there is. So people wanted brighter panels on OLED but be careful what you wish for because you just might get it and not in a good way.

they did indeed reduce the pixel compensation cycle from 2000 hours to 500 hours. Not sure why yet. In reality, these new Evo panels are supposed to be more resistant to burn in because they are deuterium based compounds instead of hydrogen. This compound also allows the panel to withstand higher temperatures and in turn, higher brightness levels. But, as you indicate, the more frequent compensation cycles may be a precautionary move by LG since these evo panels will now get hotter and brighter.

The compensation was dropped due to LG focusing on longevity for the panel. There are a lot of features that the 2022 lineup bring other than the brightness booster on the 55 inch and above models.

I doubt that is the case.. The quicker you have a full compensation cycle the quicker the panel can catch any problem. The EVO panels are more efficient so they are NOT more susceptible to burn in.. It is all about electricity and heat that causes "wear" that causes "burn in".. So if the panel is 20% brighter but SAME amount of electricity is used. It will obviously not burn in quicker.. This change is just LG fine tuning and getting better at preventing burn in... Their goal would to be to have hardly anyone getting burn in. It makes them look better and more people to go with OLED. Think about it as changing oil in a car. Is it better to do it at 15,000 miles (2,000 hour compensation cycle) or do it at 4,000 miles (500 hour compensation cycle). Which engine would fair worse? LG OLED panels have 100,000 hours longevity according to LG. I doubt speeding up the compensation cycle would impact it.. Also the quicker it is done, the less "compensation" needed, right. And the quicker you could catch the panel from getting a burn in and "compensate" for it so it doesn't show.. That is my take on it..

@@loki76 could be. Though I'm not sure the same amount of electricity is being used to produce more light output. The main reason the evo panel is less susceptible to burn is is because its is deuterium based, not hydrogen based.

@@steadychaosproductions3376 It's supposed to be, or less electricity. It's more efficient by 20%, so it can offer 20% more brightness at same electrical level. That could be used to use less electricity to show same as before brightness. The C1 also had the deuterium. I wonder how it has stacked up in regards to burn in.

@@mariovo5 hmm, I have the CX too. I think you're referring to firmware update 03.21.09 which inadvertently reduced game mode brightness by 100 nits on the CX. LG did not mean to do that, it was a mistake. Firmware 03.21.16 fixed the issue and restored brightness back to normal levels.
