let go of the illusion of a separate self and embracing the larger reality of interconnectedness. by doing so, individuals can tap into a deeper sense of purpose and meaning that is not focused on personal gain or achievement. the self is not a fixed, separate entity that can be improved or perfected, but rather a fluid and ever-changing process that is part of a larger interconnected system.

I would add that we also choose the path of least resistance because we fear the potential pressure that will come with success if we go down the path of most resistance. It's scary to think that our dreams and goals might actually come true and now everybody will be looking to us for everything, which puts a ton of pressure on us to handle that success because we actually "made it" as well as how much our life will change. It's easy to "just get by," but it's truly hard to "make it" and carry that torch of being the one to do it while everyone around you has eyes on you 24/7 seeing if or when you will drop the ball. Didn't mean for this long rant, but just something that got triggered in me when Cole mentioned the path of least resistance. Happy Easter everyone!

I recently came to the conclusion that no human ever was able to become whole with themselves if they decided to cut out their inner darkness. Sometimes its exactly this darkness that deserves the recognition so that we can finally fully accept it and learn to deal with it. the way you wrote the character of your Fear, the way he asked "why have you kept me locked away here for so long? dont you know how thats felt?" was really beautiful. it's as if even the darkest and densest of our fears exist only for us to overcome them and become a much wiser human being. its as if it had enotions of its own and only once you truly understood how it felt did you realize it was there for a reason. "in the darkenss you will find what youve been seeking for in the light." ive personally experienced that. being only 17 i sometimes wonder why i feel so dark at times, that too for no apparent reason. things that helped me get through those times were my family, your videos and recently, learning that consciously delving into the darkness in a controlled amount of time actually causes you to learn many things you wouldnt otherwise had been able to comprehend when you were happy. binge watched a couple of your vids and this comment is probably pretty late but i had to let you know how youve impacted my life. thanks cole 💪

I can't trace my inability to sleep well at night to anything specific, I just stopped being able to sleep at night in high school and my mind would start running at a million miles a second when it got dark out. I wasn't always thinking about something negative, either, I would just think about absolutely EVERYTHING, and if I was thinking about something negative, it was about events that occurred during the day. Everything just always felt better when I was awake at night anyway, and I felt like I was more creative and more motivated at night (other people noticed this about me as well). Days seem to drag on... ENDLESSLY when I wake up in the morning, I hate that feeling. Only recently have I started to feel like something bad might happen at night, but everything just feels wrong lately and I think that's the source of that feeling.

I've reached that spot of being unstoppable, and I have been living on it for a long while. After a lot of time, a new problem was born. I shared this with you to see if you've experienced it and see what you have to say. The problem is suffering from success. Yes, just like the meme, and no, I am not trolling. It's been so long in this success that it holds no meaning anymore. I now only feel joy when I fail, fall, and suffer. When I face a new problem and don't want to solve it because it's chaos is my only source of happiness. But eventually, the problem is solved and the happiness gone. And no matter how much "I feel what I don't want to feel," "Accept the situation and who am I," or "Let the emotions flow down the creek," I still stay with the same problem. Have you experienced this before? What do you have to say about it?

Without fail, every time I say: “ok shame/sadness/loneliness/etc have at me! Let’s see your worst! I’m not scared of you! I’m ready to face you head on!” and I brace myself for the worst, I’m consistently underwhelmed. Like maybe a few minutes tops of sitting in the negative emotion, and then I’ll notice my mind start to wander. Like “wait, that’s it? That’s all you got? I’m supposed to be thinking about the bad scary things, not how much I love my kids (for example) and I laugh to myself. Of course this is at home, by myself, in a controlled environment. The worst thing about all of these feelings is that you feel like you're alone. Hearing your exact thoughts and feelings put into words makes you look at the screen intently, like that lightbulb moment, when you realise that maybe this dark place isn't undiscovered. That you should believe it when the videos say that things get easier. I'm going through this questioning and dark place, and have been for a long time. Sometimes it's a lot worse, sometimes it's a lot better. I just hope I can find that light at the end of the tunnel and I also hope that voice in my head stops telling me that there is no light 😤

Suffered with panic and anxiety for many years, just because, as you described in the video - I was unwilling to feel the emotions I labeled as negative. Paradoxically this just made me have more anxiety in the long run. Feeling negative emotions are inevitable - suffering is a choice. I think this is the key for the majority of ‘emotional’ mental health issues - allowing them to be there instead of coping with them. If you are depressed, allow yourself to be, because there is a reason for it - maybe you have lost a loved one, lost a leg, regretting past.. whatever it is - know that FEELING sad about it is natural, but staying sad is optional. That is the cold hard truth.. I know how hard it can be loosing anything, however that is inevetable in life, accepting that fact and allow life to happen as it is and feel all the emotions life throws at you - is the key.

Throughout my entire life, I have had attentional difficulties in school and others, and I met all criteria for ADHD. I do think this disorder is real, but I wonder if this break that I mentioned could in a sense "reverse" that inattention brought upon by excessing gaming, junk food, and even pornography. I wonder if this stuff was just wired into me, and instead of putting it down to do something else, I always just re-engaged with it even when I wasn't having fun.

It’s only wrong to be in your position are just as it would be “wrong” to be unattractive. Both are based on society’s standards, and it turns out to not be an entirely accurate description of a person’s worth. nevertheless for many good reasons we find that we got to improve. Be real with yourself, challenge your beliefs, & understand what is holding you back outwardly and especially inwardly. Completely accept that there will be setbacks; the odds are against us, as humans with emotions & desires we can’t always control, living in a world out of our control. Take accountability for what you can but don’t beat yourself up for what can’t be changed; it’s a complete waste of time otherwise. In understanding this perspective you’ll really be able to strive to achieve the things that u want to.

Cole I want to share w you my story.. In class 3rd I had crush on a girl.. then coincidentally from 8th grade in 2011 she joined same tuition as me, so we were tuition mates from 8th to 10th class.. in 10th I also changed my section to her section.. I miss her even though I haven't met her in past 9 yrs... I think of her ...

“For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something...almost everything-all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.” -Steve Jobs

Now try to make this video for someone who is becoming a nihilist. Why should I face my (supposed) fears? What do I get out of it? Do all of my dreams come true at that point? If not, what makes all of the effort worthwhile in the end?

Great video! It makes me want to ask: What are you Unwilling to Think? Are you certain that babies are born innocent, that all of our fears result from traumas inflicted on us by others? I think that, in much the same way that facing up to the feelings you fought against allowed you to master them, facing up to your unquestioned assumptions, critically analyzing the ideas deemed too "taboo" for discussion, might also lead to mastery of them.

Really liked this video Cole but sadly I still don’t know how to feel the fear and live with it and grow from it. Guess I just need to start practicing.
