I've been waiting for a review of this course. We have it & plan to start this upcoming school year. I really can't wait! So excited for this! The lab kit is out now, too. I'm definitely going to scoop that up before we start. Thanks for this review.

Oh man!!! I guess I should’ve looked to see if it was out. Does it have the finger printing kit in it then? I’ll have update that it’s out in the description! Thanks for letting me know!

Thank you for doing a review on this course. We are doing chemistry with my son for his upcoming junior year but considering Forensic Science for his senior year.

I'm so glad you did this review! I just know my youngest will want to do this class when the time comes. My middle son did an online forensics science class and loved it. It's really expensive if you don't do it through a school though, which he did. He had to stage crime scenes and evaluate them, do fingerprinting, etc... I was hoping the Masterbooks class would be good, and it sounds like it is! ❤

The experiments are sometimes easy to prep and sometimes more intensive. But at least they give really good direction!

I know, right!? I hated chemistry in high school. The way it was taught was so boring and had no application for me. I would’ve much rathered learn this?

A lab kit would be a plus! Having to get all the supplies is such a hassle. Is this the first masterbooks science you have done in your HS?
@OurHOMEschoolPlan

Yes, it’s the first Masterbooks science we’ve ever done, not just for high school. We did Shormann Science, then a Meterology science through layered earth, and then this.

My kids are so not this age but this looks interesting. I hate looking for supplies for science labs so kits, even if they cost more than doing individual shopping, are such a lifesaver. I wonder if any of my kids will want to do something like this one day. 🤔.

Thank you so much!!! I only do them I have specific things to say bc I do not like research bc, clicking on a video that reviews it only to be vague and not tell me much except that “we really liked it!” So with that in mind, that’s why they’re so detailed. Glad you enjoy them!

Iodine is great! I use it on my toddler’s scrapes because it doesn’t sting like rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. It also works to clear up ringworm.

Just wondering how long the labs take and how long do you think is needed for this science?
@OurHOMEschoolPlan

Labs can take a while depending on what it is. The lab I showed in this video with setup and completions took us over and hour for sure. Some labs are very simple and would take maybe a half hour. It just depends. And like I said too, we skipped labs. So if it doesn’t work for your schedule…. For daily lessons how long is needed? Well you’re only reading a few pages and completing a worksheet so I guess I’d say around 30-45 minutes depending on how fast you read and find the answers. And then if you want to add the tests….studying for the tests
