I love old vintage signs, especially neon signs. This is my first attempt at creating one. This one is made of plywood. I made it to practice and learn with. Now I am going to re-make this sign with a traditional metal sign box.
I used LED lights to simulate neon. I cut channels with the CNC router to secure the LED light strips. The LED’s stand off of the sign face and it really does approximate what a neon sign looks like.
Most of the aging and distressing techniques I used were learned from Wesley Treat. Check him out here: / wesleytreat
