Today, I'm up at a 7-Eleven owned Exxon gas station in San Antonio TX along Vance Jackson RD (just off I-10) and I'll be going through this nice Mark VII SoftWash XT. Lately, I haven't been filming much Mark VII systems as of lately, so I figured I have quite a lot of catching up to do, so I figured this system would make a good addition the video library. This system is original to the gas station since it was built in 2018 and put into service starting in 2019, and for the most part, it's a pretty solid system, and admittedly kind of a changeup from various other 7-Eleven gas stations that normally use PDQ ProTouch Tandem systems at the time. I did buy the top dollar wash for this which came out to only $12, and wash quality for this I would give it a 7/10, undercarriage wash was pretty decent (though it is pretty weak, so weak in fact, that it almost seems like it wasn't working), the presoak pass was decent (not the best in my book compared to other systems, but at least good for a Mark VII system), the tri-foam pass went sort of good (2 of the 3 colors were super light on the coating), the soft touch cycle went alright for the most part, but I'm just not a fan of the fact the brushes barely even contact the vehicle which you can mostly tell that the left side contacted better than the right side (why does every Mark VII SoftWash/ChoiceWash system have brushes that barely contact the vehicle's surface, is anyone else put off by that, or is it just me?), the wheel scrubbers did do a great job during the soft touch cycle, the surface protection pass went decent, as was the spot free rinse cycle, and lastly the dryers did an excellent job, I can say without argument that these Mark VII Vortex dryers are probably the best/most powerful from any in bay car wash I've ever used, they always do a fantastic job (and these are especially great since this one has the 4 producer variant), and these were no exception (though you may notice how a couple of the dryers did have a fast startup compared to some of the others, which leads me to believe that some of the dryer motors or dryers themselves may have been replaced at one time). Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy the video and stay tuned for more.
