Hello Marilyn, I just ordered Nilda and the Matsumoto book Imanishi investigates from Thrift Books. My son lives in Japan , and is coming home to visit in a few weeks. He will be so happy I am reading a novel authored in Japan. Thanks for inspiring me.

Hello Patrine, my daughter lived in Japan for seven years and I was always so happy when she visited. I ended up joining her for the last three years of her stay and taught. I’m so happy you are going to enjoy this well celebrated author. I hope your visit with your son is filled with joy. Aloha friend.

Those two Matsumoto mysteries sound so interesting as well as “Nilda” by Nicholas’s Mohr. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and bringing them to our attention. I’m skipping Jane Austen July this year due to too many real life book commitments this year. Happy reading 📖 👀!

I love it when two books unexpectedly complement each other. Now I'm interested in Nilda. One thing that Jane Austen does is give multiple people similar names. Mr. John Dashwood, Mr. John Middleton, Miss Steele and her sister...Miss Lucy Steele. I am enjoying my reread nonetheless.

Hello Angelia, yes, I know what you mean. The elder sister is given the Miss title. And there are a lot of John’s. Glad you are enjoying sense and sensibility. Aloha friend.

Hi Marilyn. Lovely video. I’m reading Sense and Sensibility too. I love Jane Austen, but this isn’t one of my favorites. I was very interested in hearing you talk about Philip Roth. I have appreciated some of his novels, but he’s very problematic for me too. I hope you’re doing well, my friend.

Hi Marilyn. Of course, I couldn't find Point Zero, but I found different Matsumoto book called, A Quiet Place, on Hoopla. I just started it, but I like the feel of it so far. I'd like to reread Sense & Sensibility this year, but may reread Wharton's Age of Innocence first. I slept poorly last night, because I can't get the Alice Munro child abuse scandal out of my mind. I won't say more here, but maybe the right book will distract me today. Aloha! 💕

Hello Barbara, I just heard about the Alice Munro child abuse scandal. As a mother of four, I can never understand how any woman could put a man ahead of her child. Thank you for the suggestion of “ a quiet place”. I will look for it. I’m sending you healing vibes and a peaceful sleep. Aloha friend.
