Definitely NOT TMI. This is a topic that needs to be discussed much more openly. Heavy periods are unbelievably common, but you’d never know bc it is such a taboo topic. The more we talk about it the more women will feel comfortable seeking treatment, which is critical. And yes, would love to see you do a video on menstruation as it relates to nutrition, weight management etc🙏

Kathy, I recently discovered you and binge watched your videos! You already helped me tremendously in terms of learning about Insulin resistance, low carb , blood glucose and keto diet. I'm a very active person, I do HIIT combined with resistance training 4 times a week an walk 10-20k steps everyday, eating fairly low carb for years and I'm even underweight. However, out of curioisity I was wearing a CGM for a month and to my absolute horror I discovered that my baseline was hovering around 100 and I had spikes up to 140/150 from meals that weren't even that high in carbs. I also felt the fatigue, brain fog and headache hitting me during the blood sugar crash and the CGM actually showed me that I was on the verge of Insulin resistance. That's when I started to research on how to reverse it and found our channel :) I started doing IF and slowly increased my fasting window and now I'm doing OMAD keto most of the time, which works WONDERS to my blood glucose levels. I feel SO much better, more alert, less fatigued yet not starving or ravenously hungry. Next I want to tweak my excercise regime and trying to switch one of my HIIT session (I'm doing mostly 30 min KZitem videos) t HIIIT sprint sessions cause that seems to be extremely beneficial to reverse Insulin resistance. I just wanted to thank you for educating on this very important topic and sharing your knowledge and experience with us, it's extremely helpful and gives hope that Insulin resistance is in fact reversible

Great stuff Kait, nothing better than a practical application of common sense dietary regimens. I like what I call a ketovore diet, but have come to realize we're all human, we will all fail from time to time, ya just gotta get back on the horse! Thanx for all your info, each one of us has to find the path & the plan which works for our own needs. Certain dietary constructs are applicable to all of us, and others have to be adjusted to individual needs, thankfully, you have all that info available for us in your videos eh!!!!!!👍😄. Have a great day(or night as the case may be) down under. PS: You look great!!! PSS: Edmonton or Florida.....or should I even ask?!?!?! 😅PSSS: Silver........awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@HealthCoachKait

Thanks for watching (listening??) Larry! PSS As a Leafs fan this hurts to answer… but I have to go Oilers for Canada’s sake 🥲 PSSS silver sounds good but it was actually the extremely disappointing… we dominated the whole tournament and lost to NORTH KOREA in the gold medal game in a shootout 💀 Frustrating because 1. Only gold moves up a division 2. North Korea should be in a higher division already but they’ve missed a few years so been relegated down 3. So much politics involved that made our tournament 100x harder… anyway I could ramble on but I don’t think anyone actually cares 😂 It was still one of the funnest experiences I have ever had but wish we ended with a win. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Hi Kait! I would definitely be interested in hearing more about your experience with hormonal birth control. I was on it for 10 years from age 16 to 26 and I didn't realize until I went off of it, that it had been causing a lot of negative symptoms. I now use an app to track my daily temperature and cycle, and I have learned so much about how my body works! I think it's so important for women to know that there is a better solution for birth control as well as natural remedies (as you mentioned, eating red meat) that can help hormonal issues without having to go on the pill. I love your videos! Thanks for sharing such important information with the world :)

well done! Apart from the change of requirements a body needs; it is slow and not obvious but it does happen. I stopped taking the pill after the birth of my second daughter; it was the best decision I made. I stopped experiencing bloated tummy and cramps after I included exercise, along with the sports I played. Everything changed; I could work out menstruation timing and no longer experienced those horrid symptoms. Before I played squash I would make up a drink of banana shake and that would see me through anything between 45 - 90 minutes of a tough match. That was years ago and still my diet has changed, activities not so intense. But your approach reminded me of the commitment it takes to stay focused on the type of fuel you need. It is a wise practice. Thank you

Enjoyed this video. We live in BC but have been to Australia and New Zealand twice as we have relatives there. We actually started the emigration process in Australia until my spouse decided to change their mind. (So sad!) Loved the weather in Newcastle where we lived. Visited the Hunter Valley and places around Sydey and NSW. Hope to visit Australia again. You are blessed to be there!!! Actually I thought you were from the USA because I didn't hear the Canadian way of saying "out" and "about". Sorry but I do not hear an Aussie accent in your voice *at all* . My Dad (a New Zealander) never lost his accent even after all the years he lived in Canada. It would be interesting to have a video on your 10 favourite things you like about Australia, 10 cultural differences between Canadians and Australiana (maybe it's only 3?), etc. You might not be interested to do that, but if you do that might be a fun video. There are a least 2 funny stories I have about words that mean one thing in Canada but mean somethings *completely* different in Australia. All the best!

Thank you so much for posting this video! It was very encouraging… just the motivation I need to get back on track with a keto/ low carb diet. My doctor placed me on this diet because I she diagnosed me with pre-diabetes.

WOW!! Dynamic (young, I am 74) woman. What a full, challenging, generous life. You are appreciated by me. Most of my eating for 18 months has been guided by Dr Sten and you. Started at 380 and very plateau’d at 250 as I have been PTing in order to walk unaided again and therefore eating 100g carbs more days to avoid losing muscle mass. So many muscles that mutanied! Your demeanor suites my quest…though now I know you are a very committed athlete, your competitive nature doesn’t drive this ( still kinda) couch potato away. You do a great job. 🫶
