I’ve met Connor irl, during a convention. He and Joey were the only two signing autographs without charging for them. He was especially lovely to talk. I can’t blame him for being mad at stream snippers when they aren’t respecting his boundaries. In fact, I think it was smart of him to tell his fans not to stream snipe as now he knows that those who do are trolls, and also is justified in telling them to go away as he made it clear that he doesn’t want them in his stream. I feel like you could’ve approached this topic with more empathy, and rather than attacking him, you could have discussed the overall issue of stream snipping.

He doesn't understand or doesn't care that not all content creators work within the same set of parameters for engagement. I'm not a super fan of CDawgVA, but anyone would be annoyed with people who are obviously just trolling them. The more I watched this video, the more I thought the host is just mad because Connor is not operating by his own, personal set of standards? Maybe the host tried to contact him and got snubbed? Yeah, I don't think he is "whining" about stream snipers. To me it comes across more as him just pointing out the problems of stream sniping. He's talked about wanting to make the best content he possibly can and while stream sniping sometimes ends up as a wholesome or funny moment, most of the time its quite meh or outright annoying for the viewers. One person selfishly takes over the stream and ruins the fun for thousands of people. Your stance of "it is what it is and you should just deal with it" is a bit warped. Like yes, you are correct that it is going to happen, and yes streamers just need to deal with it. However it's totally valid to state that you don't like sniping and you don't want it to happen. Trolls are going to be trolls no matter what, but there probably is a group of trolls who don't know that what they are doing is not fine. It should not be the default that sniping is ok. Obviously, if a streamer encourages sniping than it is fine but not as the default. And also, Connor talks about the problem of him not being able to protect snipers from the "internet mob". Snipers many times are not that adept at dealing with internet hate, as they are not used to being in the public eye. If a sniper accidentally says something that can be interpreted badly, it's totally possible that the internet mob will go after them.

This honestly seems like such a bratty “I deserve the rights to your life because *I* put you where you are and don’t care about your personal boundaries!” Take. People stream sniping is not good, it can be dangerous and very rude especially when people do it with the purpose of being rude and harassing the streamers as has happened to Connor before. Setting boundaries with viewers and making sure the lines are not crossed in a parasocial relationship is healthy and needs to be reinforced by not only creators/streamers but their audience otherwise we get people who stalk and harass the creator because they thing they have to rights to them, and that they are no longer a person with boundaries but a product or someone that is their friend even when they have never met in person or have any interactions. Connor is notoriously a great guy, and very tolerate towards streaming snipers till the more recent months where he is firmly putting his foot down which is his right and he is allowed to say no to selfies if he is really busy or honestly does not feel like it, and even then, he will often try to have conversations with fans to connect on a more personal level. He literally is known for loving to talk with people. Stream sniping is a huge issue in the community and anyone who is a fan of Connor respects it, so anyone who does stream snipe, he knows is a troll. You should really get more empathy and see where people are coming from rather than blaming them for daring to set a boundary with their community, which needs to be respected.

I don't normally comment on these things, but some things you are mentioning as facts, are your opinions. I'm not sure where you heard or assummed that most people want to be stream sniped irl, but many streamers have mentioned that they do NOT want this. IRL stream sniping is dangerous for the streamer. Some have even considered, if not, hired bodyguards for it. It would be different if the goal of the stream was to do a gathering, but IRL streams usually have a goal they're trying to achieve for content. It's like inviting yourself into a random families gathering or event unannounced. It is up to the streamer whether they want to have that event available for others to join, but otherwise it would be similar to stalking.

So hang on, let's see if I understand your point - your issue is that he's "constantly complaining" about being stream-sniped, when as far as I understand it, it's happened only a couple of times, one example you cite in your video shows two people trying to disrupt his stream and trying to troll him, and he's still doing his best to get his point across as clearly as he can when politeness obviously failed (and he was still trying to smile and defuse the situation), another prominent time is when a good friend of his (and a woman who has obviously had to deal with more than her fair share of creeps in her past) was sniped as she was trying to head home. Another issue is that I doubt many people in his audience actually find it fun to watch and disrupt the stream he's trying to entertain people with. So you seem to be saying that he is not allowed to call out behaviour he does not like and considers to be bad for the content he is trying to provide the audience that PAYS HIM FOR IT. He's also human, how would you like it if people were constantly bugging you whilst you were trying to do your job or make videos? Just because he is a bigger creator than you does not mean he has sacrificed his right to privacy or wanting to provide the best content he can and it may be that his audience does not like stream snipers and trolls and he wants to nip that behaviour in the bud from any audience members who might be considering it as it's not what he wants his content to be about (if he says nothing it could be seen as encouraging Sniping and this could derail any future IRL streams he may want to do - this would be a bad thing as far as he's concerned).

When you go to Japan in the next 2 months you should try and get in a trash taste podcast it would benefit the channel and you can explain the differences of living in Japan vs Living in somewhere in east Asia or your crazy Thailand relationship debacle lol

@@Beckst I'm pretty sure TheAnimeMan is very acquainted with HIMR, as he has talked about him before. And, judging by how the video is no longer up, it didn't end well. Him allowing him in the podcast would be like allowing the guy that crashed their panel at the con from 2 years ago.

If anything, Conner would be open minded to invite Daniel. But anime man doesn’t strike me as a tolerating type of guy. Daniel is not one of the cool kids in Japan unfortunately

I’d be the most boring guest ever. I’d be really shy and not talk a lot. And the only thing that made me slightly interesting as a creator back then was how I cheated on my wife and didn’t love her 🤷♂️

Not evey game needs co-op or multiplayer. I am actually hoping that most games go back to linear storytelling single player games like uncharted 2 and 3. I am loving the game and I am very happy it is single player. Hogwarts legacy is a great game and the secrets and exploration is amazing

I was in some classes as Connor at Uni he’s a real nice dude. (I’m blind btw) But bro you don’t know him at all and are just so cringe. The negative part of IRL streams are things that shouldn’t happen. Stream sniping is just cringe and ruins the content. It also interrupts the day. It’s selfish to want a photo when the man is doing his job. You are just hurt and are venting because you can’t comprehend you built a bad parasocial relationship.

Have you even watched CDAWGVA's video about stream sniping? It was about Kaho Shibuya, a fellow content creator and overall public figure (we're not even gonna talk about her previous career) borderline getting stalked, almost to the point of getting doxxed. Which in Japan, as many other displays of maidenless behavior, are more common than the government wishes to admit. How's caring about the people in your social circle being entitled? Is this coming from the average HIMR fan?

The 80's style ramen shop set is more of a passion project, rather than genuine way to avoid stream sniping. Besides, I believe he hasn't stepped foot in that place after the earthquake wrecked it. Haven't heard about updates about the set since.

shit take, literally every human being is entitled to their boundaries. This who "you signed up for it when you decided to be famous" shit is absolutely bull, like no mate, thats not actually part of the job, if they go to a scheduled meet and greet, if they charge entry, then its part of the job, but out and about living their lives, they are just like everyone else, yes, even when streaming, they're just another person in the world, doing their job, don't bother people working a job.
