Just to add an exclamation mark to not using gun on your neck. I was at the Consumer Electronics Show in January and an exhibitor was showing a massage gun to the bystanders and without asking me, held it against my neck. In less than a second i became disoriented and started to crumple to the floor. I reacted fast enough to push her hand away and caught myself from falling.

It depends on what massage gun accessory used. I use it for sciatica and my IT band. Makes it feel sooo much better and heal a lot faster. I press gently against areas needed and keep it on the lowest setting. Only use for 10min at a time. This has to be used in conjunction with physical therapy.

What has cured my sciatica. I stretch my hips. After doing exercises, and also without doing exercises, at the end of my leg routine, be it jogging in the treadmill, or dancing or whatever. Standing up, I put the side of my calf over the top of my knee of my opposite leg, not on my knee, and I bring down the upper part of my body towards the floor. That stretches my hips really well. I also stretch on while sitting on a chair. The sciatica problem has completely Disappeared. It could be done also seating down. I do it standing up. kzitem.infoIfadqCkci8w This other one, also helps kzitem.infoGZ5m0yXLpOY There is another one kzitem.info2gS8RYc9lus Also, seating on a chair, pull the side of your knee, while stretching the side of your leg, and bending to the opposite side. You will feel a pull all the way from the side of your leg, and the same time incline yourself to the opposite side. You will feel the sciatic nerve stretching. I have cured myself doing all these stretches.

I am a Licensed Massage Therapist in New York State 🗽 in the United States of America 🇺🇸 when massaging 💆♂️ 💆♀️ people you avoid a certain area of the neck if you are face up. Behind the knee, the armpits, the funny bone area. You massage gently over joint areas. You have to release the Achilles tendon to help relieve calf and heel pain. I have been doing this work for over 8 years now. And personally I have found to relieve muscle tension work on all the possible muscles that could be causing a specific muscle group to be tight. There are times when I am not able to find someone to personally Massage me. So I use a vibration muscle relief tool on me. Now when you are using this device on yourself be in tune with how you feel in your body. If you apply too much pressure then you will hurt yourself. Have less pressure if you are causing yourself any pain. However there have been times that I have used a vibration muscle tool on my IT band and the surrounding muscles. It did not cause me any pain. I also had to use it on the tensor facia latae muscle lateral hip area. But I made sure to do it in a gentle way with a gentle vibration speed. If it hurts it could be the vibration speed is too intense for what's going on in a certain area. I work at a spa and they have a vibration muscle tool that at the very first level the vibration speed seems way to intense for me. So some people don't like this used on them because they feel that it is way too intense. My advice find a vibration muscle tool that has slower intense vibrations and you or someone else may be able to handle it better. You also might need a massage to loosen up the top tight layers of the muscle first before using a vibration tool. Some times if muscles get way too tight it can cause nerve receptors in a certain area instead of giving a pain sensation a ticklish sensation to the area. I've experienced that one personally myself before. I wanted the vibration muscle too done on me by a licensed massage therapist at work and it was causing me to feel a ticklish sensation when the other person used it on me. But the one I use on myself I have had other people use it on me. It cause me to feel ticklish when someone else used it on me. When I use it myself I am fine. So maybe the other person was applying too much pressure. Because sometimes you need to work over an area more then once. Hit the superficial muscles first, then the next layer of muscles, and then the deep layer of muscles. It feels better that way. That's the principle I use when using this type of device on myself and others. Also I always use these devices on massage therapy clients through the sheet only and on myself through clothes only.

66 years old. Two weeks ago I had a very sharp pain at the sciatic notch after a 1 1/2 hr drive . The following day it was worse . Just took codeine and a NSAID . The next day I loss all power to my right leg quadriceps . No numbness no pain down the leg. I fell over 5 times before I realised what had happened. Went back to hospital MRI showed L4 L 5 bulge . Very slowly I began to get power back in the quad 1 kg lift 2 day 2 Kg lift day 3-6, 4 Kg lift day 7- 1O, 6 Kg 11 -14. Intially I was trying to lift the all whole leg but after watching one of your videos realised that I could irritate the nerve. The pain from the sciatic notch is now migrated to the spine and knee. I now can walk up up stairs once a day using the weak leg. I am being very cautious tried to get detailed advice how to physio therapy the condition with no joy. Lucky I’m retired so have just been very careful and avoided Mackenzie exercise at this stage and only easy going non painful movements like cat cow, balance on one knee and opposite arm facing down , and walking slowly until pain intensifies often throughout the day.

I love all of your videos Will! You're doing a wonderful job explaining as well as educating all of us. I am an LMT of 17 years in Florida and am 62 years old, I find your videos very beneficial, as well as guiding me to safely use free weights!
