The Nodus offerings are still my favorite of your recent pre-production reviews. I do like this Retrospect, but I have my eye out for the Sector Sport. Really do appreciate that you bring these new brands to us with a complete and unbiased approach.

A beautiful piece; for me, somewhat reminiscent of the Captain Cook (which is not a bad thing 😊). I have mentioned this numerous times before, but your photography/videography is outstanding, Pete… Beautiful balance that depicts the watch perfectly. Thank you for taking so much time to bring us such high quality reviews.

The variety you are bringing our way is so appreciated. And really, you show them so well. (Still can't believe how you made the black dial on the Burei look blue.) Went on the Nodus website to check out this Retrospect III a little further, and what really caught my eye was the Sector in four variants, just one step behind the Retrospect in development. Future review perhaps? Very promising company to keep an eye on for certain, thank you!

Hiya Pete! That's a beautiful and interesting watch and they've done so much right here. Love the design especially the appearance of handset and the perfect lengths of the hands. The second hand is quite stealthy with the exception of the red arrow tip, resulting in a nice effects. Build quality, finishing and the specs are impeccable. The only thing is that I wish a watch that bears the Name Retrospect (also a beautiful name btw) should be a little bit smaller, 39 mm would be ideal. Cheers mate!

If you swapped the branding out and slapped a "Tag Heuer" on the Retrospect, and changed the branding on the NH35, (pretend it was an in house movement),you could charge $1799 USD for it.

Yeah you could pay 20 times the price for a Rolex that keeps slightly better time, the watch companies have people like you figured out. You think more expensive is better quality, it's really not much better.
@craig2100
3 жыл бұрын
@@garyboyle695 agreed. But for a few bucks more you can get a better and thinner movement was my thought. The NH 35 is a work horse nonetheless. Still a great deal no matter how you cut it.

According to you, is this the best dive watch you can get for this price? It seems even better finished than a Sinn 104. I want a new watch and was looking at a Sinn 104 or Oris Aquis but it seems I can just get this for 3 times less?
@PeterKotsa
3 жыл бұрын
Finishing is really great on the Nodus, I think the Sinn will have the edge over this though. Also as far as movements are concerned, the Sinn and Oris are much better offerings. In saying that, this is an affordable alternative and nicely finished. The Sinn and Oris will hold their value somewhat, being established brands, the Nodus is a micro brand as you know, but churning out very decent affordable watches. Hope that helps Cheers

Good review but $475 for a Seiko NH35 non ISO certified diver? You've got to be kidding. You can get a real Seiko Prospex with ISO for that price and it won't be worth just half the price 6 months later as all microbrands are. This is not a good deal in my opinion. Buy a Seiko or Orient and get a real ISO diver. I will say it's a nice watch, if it was priced at the $300 it will be on eBay in a few months time. Are you on a commission here?😉 Just kidding.
