The greatest game ever played! My grandpa was from Saskatchewan and on that Grey Cup day I told him that Saskatchewan was going to win it before it started and they did. He was so happy I told him that. 🙂

Nov 26, 1989 was my birthday. Mum was so happy that I was safely delivered and we were all snuggled up together just in time for kick off 😊

That's awesome!!! I was born during the middle of the 1995 Grey Cup on Nov 19. My dad was watching the game with the doctor in the other room haha

The Riders took 23 years to win the Grey Cup in 1989 (which to me seemed like eons ago), but the Ti-Cats are 24 years in between Grey Cups, which doesn't seem that long ago!

Man, such professional broadcasting. How has the CFL gone from Whitman and Lancaster to Suitor and whoever is calling the game now. Just terrible.

This began the downfall of the Cats .. they'd lose Walker to Edmonton (and he'd play in one Grey Cup), Champion's injuries caused him to retire a few years later, DiPietro was aging and injured, Grover started hot in 1990 but cooled off and he'd be out of the game a year later, and the entire defense fell apart. Kerrigan just couldn't stay consistent, McAdoo became his own worst enemy, Bruno was fired 12 games into the 1990 season. Just sad. The lone bright spot in those dark days was Winfield.

Burgess would get his chance to start and win a Grey Cup a year later with the Bombers.

This was one of those very rare games, where it's a shame there had to be a loser.

That was Ray Jones. He was Hamilton's Trainer from 1980-1996. He passed away in 2021 at age 86.
