What a treat. I love this. Guess I now know why my beans didn’t start blooming until they got way up high this summer. (It’s all I can do to get things planted in the right season sometimes!) He kind of reminds me of my granddaddy. He always wore overalls except on Sundays when he wore a white shirt, tie and fedora.) Such a special gentleman. The elder mountain folk are strong, but gentle aren’t they?

What an amazing man. Blessed with the gift of knowledge. To be his advanced age and still be able to retain so much information is truly a gift from God. I wish I could hear him better. Only caught about half of it. As others have commented, you should write down these precious times in book form. You have lifetimes of knowledge documented here on KZitem that could be deleted, lost, etc. Much less chance of losing it in written form. Thanks for all you do sir.

I really enjoy talking to the older folks, I could listen to him for hours. My grandpaw done everything by the signs. I have a paper with all the stuff about the signs. One year I was getting the garden ready and I called my wife and told her to look on that paper and see if it was a good time to plant the beans. Sh came back to the phone and said yes. I planted 2 80ft rows. When they came up there was just a bean here and there. I went and checked the paper and it said it was good for above ground crops but seeds was apt to rot. She said I recon I should have read it all lol. Thanks for sharing all this stuff with us!

Hello Thank you for your video. Love your content of each video you put out, hoping the younger ones are watching because you are a treasure of information and they could learn alot from you ... Here where I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦 we plant at certain times too. The younger ones laugh at our reasoning. We are as superstitious with planting as we are with our fishing

Hey Justin just found you channel. I’m from Wayne County NC . Dude I could listen to you talk all day . Some of your words the way you say them reminds me of my home folks in Washington County NC . And loved hearing the old ways . Really enjoyed you to . And where can I get a calendar like you have with the signs on it . I did try to plant by the moon last year and this year , but in the spring we have so much rain took me tell May to get stuff in the ground this year . And we not had any rain this month. Praying we get some Sunday.

Other than learning to use the Almanac how does one learn the science of functioning all of planting, harvesting , even heard you say setting a post should be done in proper sign. How do we find out about all these things. I do believe it is absolutely necessary for a good turn out. Ranchers that take care of their cattle in the right sign always has better results. Can you compile your information for us all to learn the best times.
