Omg, this has become my new go to recipes. I have made this eight times in last month and love it even more now. Takes me 15 mins to have food on my plate , highly recommend after long days at work. Please do more one pot recipes.

I've been making this every day for the past week. I CANNOT get over it. Sooooo good! Just make sure your tomato passata (purée) is SALT-FREE before you add the recommended amount of salt. I learned the hard way lol. I also like to add a tablespoon of date syrup because I just love adding a subtle hint of sweetness to my savoury dishes :) I also add oregano, rosemary, and thyme. It's such a quick recipe! Vegan Corner, once again you've answered my prayers for low fat high carb, fast and incredibly tasty meals! I don't know how to thank you.

+SammyBad1 Hey! Thanks for your comment :) I'm so proud of you, it seems that you managed to become an expert with this recipe and actually improved it with all your additions. I apologies for not saying anything about the salt, but being that I'm Italian, our passata is always saltless so I assumed it would be the same all over the world. I was clearly wrong! Thank you very much once again for your support and for watching following our recipes

What can I say, I've made this recipe 3 times and the result is always perfect.Not to mention that you don't have to worry if the pasta is done or boiling the pasta in a separated pan. I added some vegan smoked cheese and I can't stop eating :D .....Also the sauce is soaked in the pasta itself and the dish does not have that washed pasta taste with some of sauce sliding on the side.Amazing job and soooooooo easy to make

Why is it that all of your recipes look and taste delicious? :) Can you please make a tomato passata recipe using only fresh ingredients (no tins, or packages)?
@thevegancorner

+3looish Thanks a lot! :) I really wanted to do that recipe, but it is quite challenging to find great fresh tomatoes where I live (Scotland) and having ripe tomatoes is pivotal to get a delicious sauce. Well done for making your own pasta :) Theoretically, if you make the pasta of a shape that takes about 10 minutes to cook, you shouldn't have any problem, but I'm not sure if this will be easy or not. Personally I would definitely dry the pasta, or you will end up with overcooked pasta and a sauce that resamples a soup. Plus, I would add the liquid in batches, to make sure you don't end up with too much liquid towards the end of the cooking process. I hope this helps

Yum this looks so good, if feeding a family of four would it work as well doubling the recipe? Hi from Australia I'm a new vegan and your recipes have helped so much and always work out and are so tasty thanks for all your hard work!
@thevegancorner
9 жыл бұрын
+Gail Webb Thanks! Generally a 'standard' serving of pasta is 80g to 120g, so this recipe could serve 1 to 2 people. For a family of four I would probably triple the recipe, just to make sure that everyone gets a decent amount of pasta. This obviously depends upon how you regularly eat, as not everybody is happy with a 120g portion. I hope this helps and thank you very much for your comment

I cringed when I first saw how the past was cooked - if my Momma saw that she would SCREAM!!! but in the end it looked good, I will try this when I am out on a fishing trip and to make a shore lunch. The addition of Sardines really does add another dimension to the dish - good job!!!

Hi!! Super easy!! Is tomato passata and italian tomato sauce two different things!! ( sorry if I sound silly :( ) an amateur in cooking !!

+Priyanka Bhiwaniwala That's a good question actually and you don't sound silly at all, don't worry :)The Italians are to blame for creating complicated and untranslatable names. The two sauces are actually two completely different products. Passata is supposed to be raw and thoroughly blended, although nowadays it is always cooked. Tomato sauce on the other end, is always already cooked and reduced down, and its consistency ranges from blended to chunky, depending upon the tomatoes used for the preparation, the brand etc. The beauty of passata is that it almost invariably has the exact same consistency no matter where you buy it, which means that using it will yield more consistent results. To make the long story short, you can use both of them, and deciding which one to use is a matter of personal taste and preference. Thanks for watching and for your comment

This looks delicious and so simple! I am totally guilty of breaking my spaghetti up...my excuse is that I need a wider pot ;-)

+Preeya Sharma No worries, it is actually pretty normal to break the spaghetti as not everybody like them whole. :) Thanks for watching!

+Veglife Channel Perché no!

Doing this tonight! I know you said you can use any pasta but quinoa pasta always gives off A LOT of starch. Should I cook the quinoa pasta halfway in one pot and add it to the sauce to finish cooking?

+OfficiallyGirly I know what you mean and you are right. However, I can't make a note for every kind of pasta there is out there as every brand makes a different product, so it is down to the people to adapt the recipe to the specific ingredients they have. For example, the quinoa pasta I use doesn't give off any starch. Cooking the pasta first would defeat the purpose of the one-pot pasta cooking method, but If you do want to make this dish and cook the pasta first, I'd suggest you to make it the standard way. So cook the pasta as you would normally, and for the sauce, place all the ingredients into the pan, bring to the boil and reduce until you get a sauce thick enough to be used as a condiment. There is no need to use all the water mentioned in the ingredients list for the sauce (a quarter cup will be more than enough) and also don't use all that salt because it really is too much using this cooking method. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for watching and please, keep me posted

The Vegan Corner thank you so much!! Maybe the pasta I use has more starch because it has rice flour in it. Cheap American pasta not so good 😆

I'm not vegan but am interested to try this one pot puttanesca. In terms of cooking, would you put anchovies in the water? Or does that need to be fried/ sautéed to dissolve?
