Oh Michaela I know the feeling. I'm still healing from the exact same. Someone who promised me the world and whom I loved wholeheartedly and then... they left. It's truly heartbreaking. It's agonising but I assure you, you got this. It's not a linear process, but it's one that will cast light over any shadow of a doubt you might still have and make you realise that you deserve so much more. Sending lots of love

Listening to this video is like hearing my grandmother speak. She was my best friend, and she wanted what was good for me more than anybody else including me. And she is also my guide and example when it comes to personal growth. I can now see how she had to overcome the same kind of problems I am faced with. Thank you for your wise words Susan. You remind me of my sweet nana in many ways.

Thanks Susan - love hearing from your wisdom. Your message hits home, recently went through a break up (I was not hoping for it...this person felt like a twin flame connection). While a break-up is never easy, I felt that there was a good presence on the idea of "growing" and it's made the healing process feel like it's been handled with a sense of gratitude, acceptance and respect.

When you mentioned that being betrayed by the concept of something, it feels like a light in the tunnel for me. I've been betrayed by the concept my ex telling that i was different or whatever he tried to let me know, and suddenly he dated someone else less than a month after we broke up. It left me on "???" And feel hurted a lot. Since in my theory, if i was different he shouldn't have replaced me this soon. I suddenly feel like i was nothing and has nothing good to offer for him to find me valuable or meaningful. I feel not enough. Probably i also experience some ego and worth crashed down with this reality since somehow i also miscalculated my significance in my ex. Probably the different he stated means differently to each of us, which leaving room for me to wondering. I still can't figure the entire ego story-the story i tell to myself-but this helps a lot.

I always believe that traditional dating, love, and marriage is much better than what we having now the modern day relationships of love and dating. I really don't know the concept what modern day dating and love really is sometimes because peoples used to tell one thing one day and on the another day they tell the exact opposite what they said the another day. The younger generations are affected much by this I think you know how it's a big impact on young peoples this days.

Hi Susan, i love your content! In this case or similar, men will “promise” it all,especially if you discuss it before the sex. Men understand this concept, will give it to you...and than comes the betrayal. In my 20 years of dating experience i came to understanding you cannot make the deal by thought out rational discussion. We are way too emotionally and instinctively driven. I’m still in search of the answer to that. Thank you! Take care. 🙌

I would love to hear a video on LGBTQ+ specific strategies on dating, knowing that it is quite different than dating in the straight world. I grew up very traditional, however I see the norm in the gay community is to be more open minded. How do people like me, who has been raised to think one way, open my mind to other types of long term relationships without feeling jealous?
@SusanWinter
2 жыл бұрын
I often receive letters from my gay community asking me if, “is monogamy possible?“ And granted, there are a multitude of formats that work for a multitude of people. But at the end of the day the question is, “what do you want?“ There’s a difference between being Modern and feeling the pressure to conform to modern mores, and knowing what is the truth of what you want

How can we start such conversations at the start of a human relationship without scaring them away or seeming needy?
@SusanWinter
2 жыл бұрын
I’d suggest you not fear being direct from the very first date onward. Rather than be concerned you will scare off your prospective partner, why not filter from the beginning by telling the truth of what you want and why you are dating?

I was thinking about this topic as well that is betrayal. I wasn't betrayed by the girl I love but I was betrayed by some of my closest friends and there was one women I met only in online and I worried and cared about her because she is divorced and poor and having a 20 year old daughter and she is really a good women. I shown love and feelings for her but I don't think she given me back what I given her. The fact is Susan I really didn't wanted to live with her, but I want her to accept my feelings and love for her but for some reason she decided not to accept maybe she found someone now. However our conversations only happened in online but what if we met in real life everything could have been different maybe she could have understand me better but now she don't wants to talk to me eventhough I done anything wrong and I feel I was betrayed and I put lot of trust on her but now I feel betrayed and I don't want to talk to that women again and I wants to focus on my one on one love trap and I wants to marry that girl who is my dream and this women was just a good friend that's it. Thanks ☺️ for making this video and spoke about this betrayal of trust.

This is why I opted to enter into an open relationship with my current partner. I’ve realized that what I was longing for was safety and security and thought that monogamy inherently provided that. But this relationship is the most secure that I’ve ever felt, one reason being that it allows us both to grow. Whatever the structure of the relationship, both people need to be seen and heard for who they truly are, and have freedom to explore the world and themselves.
