TONKATSU is a popular dish for everyone in Japan.
Tonkatsu means deep-fried pork cutlet. Outside is crunchy and inside is juicy and tender.
It is eaten in several ways like a main dish as well as a garnish of curry, rice bowl and a filling of a sandwich.
Ingredients are simple but need some technique to make it delicious.
And, the recipe has many tips to make other Japanese dishes.
I introduce both Tonkatsu and Tonkatsu sauce recipe in the video.

◆ Ingredients for 2 servings:
2 boneless pork loin chops(1 cm / 0.5 inch thick)
1/2 cup panko flour (bread crumbs〕
Some salt
Some ground black pepper
1/8 cabbage (as you like)
2 cups of vegetable oil
- Batter
1 egg
4 Tbsp all-purpose / plain flour
2 tsp water
- Tonkatsu sauce
1 Tbsp sesame seeds
1 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp ketchup(*〕
1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce(*〕
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
* The ketchup and Worcestershire sauce in Japan have less sour than that in Western countries.
Please add a little honey or sugar to recreate Japanese taste if you don't have the condiments of Japanese brands like "Kagame".
