Welcome to my personal review of Rose “Rosemoor” -(Austough )from David Austin roses
Bred and introduced in 2004 and named after the RHS garden in Devon as you would expect this rose enjoys exemplary health vigour and disease resistance as you would expect with a rose named after an RHS garden
The foliage is almost leathery to touch, dark green and in colour, This particular rose will thrive in all manner of different situations partial shade and even capable of growing on an exposed site.
Reaching a large statement sized shrub around 5’ x 5’ it forms a well balanced and upright bush holding its flowers proudly towards the Sun, it has very few thorns in fact they’re more mossing and are easily removed
Flowers are produced in large sprays of up to 20 heads at a time each bloom not lasting more than 24 to 48 hours on the plant they open in fast succession from the most wonderful light green buds tinged with lime green and cream, sugar pink they slowly fade to an apple blossom White to expose a really attractive lime green eye in the centre
It has a fast and reliable flowering repeat from June all the way through to the back end of September and even into October
Deadhead the plant when the sprays are spent, a most attractive rose for cutting and bringing into the house adding a sense of whimsy and lovely informal cottage Garden style to a Floral arrangement
The fragrance is of medium strength. It’s fresh and clean with notes of crab, apple melon and cucumber.
