I am insecure about rejection. Rejection in any form brings instability and closes possible portals to where you wanted to head. I was rejected by the majority of institutions during my high school years. I deceived myself, lied to others, and felt lost. Little did I know I was the fool valuing something that others value for the chance of being acknowledged.
This video isn’t to boast about academic prestige or give value to accomplishment. Instead, it’s to share my personal victory over rejection. No matter where I go, I shall remember that rejection has taught me how to appreciate the pain and use it to adapt to any environment.
We don’t all make it and I feel for those who’ve failed. A cup of envy, jealousy, contempt, animosity, and sadness. I’ve felt it too. You may feel the world is cold, selfish, and too much to bear. The feelings arise from your insecurities and that’s okay. What matters is what are you going to do about it? The world doesn’t care about how you feel or your potential and it’s only up to you to value it and make it matter. I don’t know much but I sure know that those who have failed have the most potential as they know what I talk about. Don’t let society’s view of success determine yours. Be the chooser and not the chosen. No matter where you are in life, know that someone is battling along with you. If I can do this, think about what you can do.
I’ll leave you with one question:
What will you do?
