“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.” - Nietzsche
For far too long, I lived my life based on how others perceived me. The confinement of their image and limited thinking affected my everyday life in how I carried myself out. It was easier to conform to their standards and accept them as my identity. The majority of people want consistency from you as it’s easy to continue on their routines and put you in a box. If you diverge, it screws them and leaves them uncomfortable. What became irrelevant appears relevant. In part, I will always care as I’m a social creature. However, I want to fight not to let others confine me nor worry about meeting their expectations.
