Philippines home gets generator backup power! Our house runs off solar but things in life still happen. Brownouts, Typhons, tropical storms, earthquakes, and even volcanos are still active in the Philippines. Having a backup power option is important here and this is a great piece of mind and comfort knowing we have a backup power option.
Typhon Odette taught me a few things like the importance in having a backup plan for power. Few Philippines homeowners that relied on solar had a harsh wakeup call. One family lost their solar panels in the storm, another family had tree branches fall on their panels. Lastly was a man that had his invertor fried so he could not use his solar power system. Point being, I do not want to only rely on my solar in a bad situation where we may not have power for days, weeks, or even months.
Now we have a home solar system, backed up by the power lines, and a generator if things get rough.
